And in beta there was even a bug regarding water-flying connection. If you want to take off from water, or if you fly into water while your wings are spreaded, your character will stuck between flight-off and flight-on mode and just jumping until you log out (reason: you can fly close to the ground, until your character is not touching it. While touching water automatically turns off flight-mode, during that, your character can't touch the ground (since its below the water level), and i just can't decide: flight or no flight).
. I'm sure it is easy to fix this, but while they're working on that, it wouldn't take much effort to implement swimming on surface, this single step could easily solve every simliar problem.

For some very strange reason new users can't make new threads so I have to write my topic in some random thread like this. I assume you are used to this so here it goes:

From what I have read about the game system it seems to be very PvP oriented. I hate most PvP in MMOs and I am looking for good MMOs without it. I don't mind the idea of PvP'ing over castle control, or in certain smaller areas that are only for PvP. But I definitely don't want to be bothered by PK'ers when I am grinding.
Will it be possible to progress and get just as good equips/items from just PvE? Or is the PvP such a crucial part of the game that It's useless without it?

If it won't be possible on normal servers, will there be any servers with PvE setting only?

I have been trying to find information on this but it seems to be very little that is known about this game so far. Therefore I don't really expect anyone to know how this will work yet but if you know something please share the information.

From what i got sofar is that Aion is all about PvP. I don't think there will be a PvE server because of that reason. I heard the Abyss ( the pvp zone ) gives really good items ( better then items you can craft ), but i also heard that they will be fixing that issue. Anyways, PVP is indeed a crucial part of this game.. can't really say if it's useless without it but my guess is that it's not a game ment for people that dislike PvP

We have been told that you can in fact get to max lvl without pvping in the abyss, but as said before the best gear will come from the abyss. There will not be a PK system in Aion (you can't kill one of your own faction). You will not lose EXP from dieing in a pvp fight unless a monster is also doing damage to you at the same time (and depends on the amount of damage from the mob). Also note you can only gain AP (Abyss Points) is by fighting in the abyss. AP will be needed to buy quality gear and so on. Sorry i can't answer all your questions because i don't want to give you bad info.

EDIT: If you do venture into the abyss, just go with a party so everyone can watch each others backs. And if you find yourself overmatched by the other faction...there is no shame in retreating...fight another day FTW.

I'm glad they aren't bothering with swimming. Why? Because it's unrealistic. Think about it: in all other MMOG's, you'd find yourself swimming at a somewhat-fast pace while wearing a heavy suit of armor, or robes. You'd drown if you tried that in real life.
