Ah yes trowing fireballs from your hands, flying, getting killed then respawned in the city, etc etc etc is very realistic.

Its a game.. its not supposed to be 100% realistic.

I thought this was a fantasy game but i guess your right.. Swimming is unrealistic compared to suddenly having wings and fly around

There were several guesses that OB will start before 12th, Nov, today it came up again, now with an exact date. Will see.

I think people try to seperate fantasy from realism, realistic isn't the same thing as real, it is just a characteristic of real. Just because your in a fantasy world doesn't mean that realistic physics and barriers don't exist, it just means that it is a made up reality with fantasy elements. It still has to adhere to realistic standards, in which the Aion team actually went to lengths to make rational explainations for death and respawning, and things like aquadic physics should be recognized.

You could very well say anything is possible in a fantasy, because it is, but in order to have an interesting fantasy, it has to be a rational fantasy, where some things are different, but rational existance and interaction apply. This isn't some retro nintendo game where you suddenly die when you hit the water, it is an MMO, and MMOs are marvelled for their depth of realism and interaction on a far grander scale than simply some combat elements, so swimming is important, just as important as using wings to fly, because we arn't flying without justification, nor because Daeva have gravitational manipulation, we are flying because Daeva have wings, they have wings because they are supernatural creatures, and there are supernatural creatures because this is Aion, a fantasy world with it's own set of realistic statues and limitations. Good fantasy is built around a solid fictional reality, not a completely incoherent imagination.

Notice the replies stop here? I completely agree. Having wings and shooting fireballs from our hands is explained - the goddess Aion granted us these powers (or something, hell I don't know enough yet). However, nowhere does it say she "granted us the power to swim with armor and not have the armor get flooded and drown us", nor does it say this in any other game.

It does say your demi-god, super creatures which could logically swim with heavy armor on, assuming magically forged armor is so heavy anyway, the cleric wears plate mail. Beyond that, to actually fly with wings nearly half the natural span of normal flighted creatures, they would have to have much more power, or flap like a humming bird. Wings can also aid movement through water greatly, as utilized by many diving birds.
