Huh? It's the game's music, but orchestral. Probably much higher quality.

Thats the question - is the performance same as in-game or its a special dedicated recording session for OST CD only.
Sure i'm aware of general quality difference between in-game OGG's and uncompressed CD stream, but the different performance is a most interesting thing.

The tracks ingame are the same ones, were performed by/recorded with the same ppl (LSO, Origa, etc). But, beside the tracks Ryo composed, there are other songs aswell, made by composer In-Ro Joo, NCsoft Employee,

I wonder if these tracks are modified for orchestra or if they are in fact the same tracks to be premiered in game. For example, in the final fantasy series there were the MIDI versions (OSTs) and then the modified arranged versions for orchestra or piano or there was a main theme orchestrated but the rest MIDI. Nowadays music in games is getting more and more sophisticated it wouldn't be a surprise if they also started using orchestral arrangements in-game rather than reduced MIDI etc. But, I wonder because I eventually want ALL teh Aion trax (nao)! $.$

OFC, in-game music is not MIDI for a years
Aion uses OGG (mp3-like freeware codec) music, same as Lineage II before it.

it's a shame I didn't ask about that. I just wish ALL pieces in a game's OST could be treated for orchestra instead of some and others not

Heh, it was my question too, but until OST CD is out we can't figure this out.

Ordered mine. Can't wait until the release date and delivery. A lot of people seem to 'ugh... they're just giving us music?' but imo the OST will probably keep me satisfied for a while. I love OSTs, especially ones as good as Aion's seems to be from the preview tracks.

well 22 tracks is definitely NOT the entire OST unless each track is really long or they anticipate a very repetitive soundtrack (in-game), but I'm sure we won't be disappointed

yeah these days releasing a game's OST is like the classical composers debuting their prime compositions back in the day

Of course it's not the ENTIRE OST, but the tracks that are the most important or memorable. There are many, many other tracks but they might not sound at all good on a CD, without playing the game at the same time.
