I would like WoW if their players weren't such annoying little ***s that think that every game is wow clone.

Hearing people call Aion a WoW clone is starting to DRIVE ME NUTS.
Blizzard took a look at all the RPG's and MMO's and MMORPG's, saw what they had done right, improved upon them and then make it very user friendly. What's not to love? Why call a KOREAN-MADE game a World of Warcraft clone? They don't look similar. And every game these days works off the same general look. As in, tooltips, quests and their logs, maps, toolbars for your abilities. So WHY is Aion called a World of Warcraft clone? I don't understand and this frustrates me. And honestly? If this game is as user friendly and addictive as WoW you honestly won't hear me complaining. If a game is going to copy WoW atleast pick the great parts. Edit2: I think, maybe, that people call it a WoW clone because that was the only/first MMO they ever played. So that is their only basis of fact. How ever, ignorance isn't an excuse. /endrant Edit: I play WoW and I don't thing Aion is anything like WoW. I think it takes a lot more from Lineage 2 and Final Fantasy XI. I freely admit myself guilty of doing this. Not to Aion(It looks way different) but to Warhammer...which proved me wrong. |

The writer of that article has no idea what (s)he is talking about. I almost died when they compared the combo chains to the WoW skill list cause i was laughing so hard. Fellow members of AionSource I want to remind you of one simple rule:
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups, especially in public forums. |

Worst mmo review/comparison I've ever read.
Not only does he have no idea what he is talking about, he is flat out wrong or misinformed on many points. A section on the Cooldown prompts? He touched on none of the important factors in mmo's that actually make them mmo's.. Crafting, economy, PvE, endgame etc.. Just the fact that he writes that his computer couldn't even handle LoTR graphics makes me wonder how he ever got the job of writing any kind of article on an mmorpg website. People really need to stop with the "WoW killer" crap. It isn't going to happen. Nor should it. Other games can compete and exist just fine without having to "kill" WoW. |

A few things to say, but all completely on different topics, so we'll just do it by the numbers.
1. There needs to be some kind of rule about / against discussing WoW on these forums. Some WoW fanboy ( for lack of better word... you know what I mean, somebody who isn't quite ready to leave his/her spouse quite yet ) always gets butthurt and turn arsonist. And then the topic just gets locked. 2. I'll admit AION will not be a WoW killer. Blizzard got extremely lucky with WoW ( they've admitted to this ). The only time another MMO will be given the opportunity WoW got will be when Blizzard announces shutting down the servers. And until then, nothing will top WoW. Unless sheep becomes very popular on restaurant menus or something. 3. Thanks for the link, t0y0. 4. t0y0 by far seems the most... hmm, civilized, helpful and likeable of the RageQuit... mens. __________________ I am principled man, one who cannot in good conscious, support theft. Aion can be a WoW killer if NCsoft spends a lot of effort hyping it up in the western market AND if its Korean launch is very successful with little bugs, crashes etc.
Spread the word! Anyway, I've never played WoW but it's pretty stupid to criticise WoW or a WoW player everytime the opportunity presents itself. WoW is the most successful online game in history and WoW players are part of Aion's market too so if you want Aion to be as good as it can be, you should be embracing ex WoW players and help them see the light. Obviously, if they're just tools then that doesn't apply. |

Its wow its just that amazing. Like Pop Tarts, a lot of people try to copy them yet ultimately fail because pop tarts were the first pop tarts ever created. Even though its essentially taking the idea from toast but elaborating on that. C;
@ Celestin's no.2 On the ragequit forums one of my friends basically used the best defenition or state it would be for a game to actually kil WoW Quote:
and inevitably WoW is the only thing that can kill itself |

WoW may even have difficulty killing itself. It's been allowed to build momentum for 4 years, practically without opposition. At this point, it's like a freight train. Blizzard does plenty of things that would account to a shot in the foot, but WoW never flags and it's because of how firmly entrenched their player base is with each other.
Try to get one person to quit WoW and you might as well sign up to get a guild to quit WoW. Among my friends who play WoW, about half of them don't really like WoW. But when I ask them to play AION with me, they'll say, "Hey Celestin, I trust your word, you've almost never led me astray and I'm willing to play AION with you on this condition." And then they of course go on and list about four to six of their friends that I have to get just about all of to play too. And when I go to those guys, they say the same thing, except one person and now I have a bunch of people who are willing to play AION with me if everybody else will but nobody will actually make a decision because of the one guy who won't move or want to wait for everybody else. The perfect deadlock. And WoW kind of does have a cash shop, e.g. the items that are granted to you in game from their TCG. __________________ I am principled man, one who cannot in good conscious, support theft.
