First bots in Aion

the problem is not in availability of the bots, there are bots in all online games. the problem is in their numbers. we all know NCSoft's ban policy They dont care about all these things in l2, all they want is as more accoutns as possible. Doesnt matter if its bot or not. All I can hope is that in Aion's team work another people and that they dont want to ruin 1 more game. Time will show.
But bots after 1 week of OB is too soon i think. I'm a bit disapointed.

One or two bots is ok.... couple thousand bot infestation *cough L2 cough* IS NOT OK! If they allow the bots to run around like they did in L2 this game isnt going to last very long. I couldnt stand the bots in L2 you couldnt lvl ANYWHERE cuz no matter where you were there were bots in every room of a cata or killing mobs that gave good loot in open areas

Thats the sad part...and the memories of L2 are not happy ones which is probably why im so upset =(

also I hope you all dont become like the people on the L2 boards who just say ignore them, because as you can see from the population on those servers not many people think that way =/

I guess if all else fails ill just play on the korean servers. They tend to care more over there.

Bots. Blah. They wont prevent me from playing Aion at this piont, but I will have to say that they damage a game depending on how they are handled. It leads to many other things like ebaying, powerleveling and so on. To me its about respect. In Lineage 2 NCsoft did not respect their players by allowing bots and farming. They are making a profit from the company and you had instances where people who did not bot got banned because they thought they were. ( I was one of those people ). My Eva Saint got banned for botting when I never botted. The funny thing is that when I spoke with Ncsoft about it they wouldnt even really give me a reason as to why she/he was banned and the entire account was deleted, couldnt even log into it from the website. The only trace I had of the account were screenshots. ( that is the main reason why I quit l2 )

Don't give them the impression that we will tolerate bots in any way (aka one or two). Let them know that we are strictly against the phenomenon.

thats what im saying if your gonna play regardless NCsoft is just going to let them obviously b/c it = more money. If the majority of people refuse to play with bots then Ncsoft would ban everyone who botted!! I mean its really not a hard concept to grasp.

My grandmother can bypass gameguard.

And 5% of the game users who are doing nothing wrong will have problems playing because of gameguard conflicts for stupid reasons.

Totally agree with you, like ok, it's fine to see 1 or 2 bots rarely because it'll just happen, but as long as they are eventually banned and bots are just generally rare then it's fine. You'll never have a game where it's completely 100% bot free and un-hacked, but bots carry a lot of NEGATIVE aspects to them.

I'm not sure why but I generally get VERY peeved when i see loads because it means

1. The company doesn't care about their customers, and you're faithfully paying them for good service
2. bots fill up space + lag servers with non players
3. If there's as many as L2 you're pretty much not playing an online game at all
4. Bots get very annoying when they steal your kills, loot your monsters and pk you
5. Very unfair for the players who actually play
6.
7. 'Usually' overprice rare items
8. Continue the botting trade by selling their gold, characters, items to lazy people
9. VERY ANNOYING IF A RARE DROPS AND THEY TAKE IT
10. Ruin many gaming experiences
11. If botters bot because they don't have time to play, then why play at all? No one if forcing them to play 24/7 + you're paying for the game + the program to bot so you can have a couple of minutes to show off stuff you didn't earn? Even so how do you get the time to even play?
12. Frustration
13. Many people quit because of it
14. They steal possible good loot from other players
15. I'm done...


So yeah.. I hope they make sure botters DON'T come at all to their servers and make such a wonderful and beautiful game go right into a trash can by ruining other gamers experiences. I mean 1 or 2, or ever 3 or 4 bots are fine, but more than that! Then.... Well you get it.

Once I reach level 25 (about 3 days after the release) bots will become meaningless to me, however, I do hope they hit the gold buyers hard. If there are bots, they are the only ones to blame, bots would eventualy leave if there's no bussiness going, make the bans public so people get scared of buying gold, and you win the battle.

On a different note, bots in this game aren't necessary in order to become competitive, in fact, I level faster questing instead. I can't see bots reaching the mainstream status they have in L2.

WAR had an interesting combat techinque for Bots and gold farmers. They had personnel basically assigned to the elimation of Bots and gold farmers and once one was caught it was basically "yelled" throughout the map. Just thought it might be worthwhile for NC to do something like this. It'll definelty decrease the number of gold farmers.

It's actually being done in L2, =Spam= and his court are doing that now, quite late, but hopefuly it's the direction NCwest wants to take.

Keep complaining to the company and they'll eventually listen. If that doesn't seem to work, send comparison letter with other popular MMORPG where there AREN'T too infested with bots....

Then again, Korean games have been so infested with bots that it's really depressing.
