Its just usually Companies especially ones in korea tend to be like "Omg we released the game guize. Make a new one!11111"
Maintenance on the game is ESSENTIAL. I don't mean just patching and updates. I mean constant gms monitoring the game

There is no surprise in see the game tested by hackers, we just need to wait and see Nc actions towards this... I really don't think this one will become "another L2".

Like 4 years to late. Now 90%+ of L2 population are corrupted in some way. Also i believe they doing that becouse of incomming Aion. They want to make good image of NCsoft before Aion goes live in NA/EU ^^
It is just my opinion ofc, but...

Bots will be there as long as the gameplay mechanics aren't worthwhile enough for people to stick with them for long. Other than that, as long as MMORPGs are purely about character development, how sad it might seem, many people will always try to cheat to get to the top or just to be "better" than others. If there's an easy way, many people will pick that way.
However, many do not have any compunction about what they do. They're telling themselves it's fine to do so, since they do not want to experience the development part (although they like to be "above" others - technically that is) and have no intention of wasting time with shoddy parts, but just certain worthwhile things in the game and since it's just a game, it's not abjectly or at least not as much that it wasn't bearable to bot instead of having to do unbearable parts in a game they're paying for.
As weird as this might sound to many people, but I can understand that point of view when looking at many of our momentary MMORPGs. I'd much rather have everything in a game I play as a worthwhile part to do. Sadly, this has very rarely, or to be honest, never been the case. I have played through many MMORPGs without ever touching an easier way to cheat through, but I must admit, if I had to play those games again, I'd much rather skip the majority of parts.
Naturally, people argue that you could always change the genre and stop playing MMORPGs if you find so much about it unbearable, which I totally understand. But I also totally understand that those people could like many of the ideas of the genre (for example - playing through a storyline of a RPG together with others, beating mobs that need tactical thoughts together with others and so on, you do not get this as you do in MMORPGs anywhere).

Of course, there are also just idiots who'd cheat regardless of those thoughts. But that's just a minority and wouldn't cause a problem that would be nearly as big as it is.

I suggest you people not to judge about those people as if they'd be the devil in person. Many of them are doing it on a reasonable basis. However, I also get why many people here don't understand, since they might think, unlike me, that the MMORPG genre is genuine and good as it is and doesn't need change. A discussion with those people will stay meaningless as long as they don't research and admit those major failures of their beloved MMORPG genre.

Look - sorry but I hate bots, cheats etc. Seriously ayase - if you catch a bot don't ban the account. Delete the account and permenantly block the ip. Heck - if you want to go ahead and report them to their ISP as been performing illegal activities on the internet - get their internet cut off too!

It is not what they deserve, but realistically if ncsoft were to give these people what they deserve ncsoft's managers would probably go to jail.
