I don't really care about EU/US launch anymore (failed), for me the game starts on 25th (basically this was the case all along). When the english version arrives, ofc I start it over, but until then, I'm playing on korean.

I'm complaining in name of the koreans, they must be freaked out right now. It is one thing we get a more better version, but it is kinda sad that NC is expecting 50% of their income from koreans and yet they release the game there in this shape.

Each to his/her own lyana, but I'd appreciate if you stated that originally, because as it is right now you may be winding people up based on something that will not affect the vast majority of members in this forums.

Hmm, well it does raise quite a bit of concern for the Korean players. : /

Not having a Wipe after Open Beta isn't exactly going to help either. Many people will max out within 2 weeks since they may already have 20+ characters.

Oh well, lets just hope NCSoft can get the content out to them quickly. Dunno how they will react, but im pretty sure they arent very happy right now. If this happened in the West the game would already be doomed. Lets hope Koreans are more optimistic than us Westerners.

AWESOME translation!! Thanks so much for it. May I ask whether, from what you read about the Drakonic Armor, a person has to be a master in all trades, or just one? What was said there wasn't completely clear.

I am curious about losing a few levels. From what I remember a while back, the level cap was 50, then it went down to 45...now it's 40. Interesting, although not a game breaker.

Selling timecards isn't against any rules, unless the timecards were stolen or something, or it's an outright scam. Theres now way to prove that, though, until someone buys one. No need for a ban.

For me it seems they aim for "how much money can we get if we launch it as soon as possible?"...

Launching just 2 days after the test, decreasing level cap (what can mean that high level areas are not completed), not wiping chars what results in keeping some undecided players...

What happened with all the issues, like class balance..? I don't believe they resolved it so fast. If they did, they wouldn't limit cross-class stigmas but worked on it till release.

It becomes clear to me that they want to start making money asap following philisophy "if something's unfinished, we'll have time to work on it before people get to the end content but let's make some profit first".

I just don't know if this is Aion I've been waiting for...

Eventual level cap and starting are totally different things. This isn't the first time I've seen a game released in it's home country first then by the time it reaches the west the cap is much higher (FFXI anyone?), and it worked out just fine. Cool they are adding more instances for the PVE crowd, happy happy.

I'm still on the benches about no wipe. It basically translates to the game has already launched in my book. Wonder if we're still gonna get the gimp 'preview' events and have to start all over at launch unlike Korea's "here guys, you get to play the game a few weeks early for free." Doesn't bode well for customer service in the future to show that much favoritism towards one market. We were 'guests' for FFXI and look at how many players they lost there. I've done it before, I won't be doing it again.

Interesting. It's funny how cultural differences can extend to almost everything. In America it is a given that there will be wipes after an open beta and companies instead provide "head starts" on live servers.

To me there should be some fixes in regards to class balance...Sin just feels too OP while archers are a joke. glass cannons like sorcs is about right but mobs tend to resist a lot of the spells so it makes it harder. clerics are tanks lol saw 1 tanking a mob 5lvls higher and killing it. not sure about end game though.

Yep. Headstarts you typically have to pay for these days. Atleast with a pre-order.
Can't remember the last time I saw a MMO in the west that didn't wipe.

but but what about the people who didnt get into open beta

Oh wellz, by now im pretty sure the Korean market is used to having people waaay ahead at launch. Better not happen in the NA/EU launch though.

I've played International Silkroad Online & NA Cabal. Both those games went from open beta to live without character wipes. It is "OPEN" Beta, anyone can join so where's the problem. Talking about aion, anyone can download and go play the game for free right now (w/ validated acc of course), there's no restrictions. If anyone can join in Open beta and no critical bugs such as gold duping, exp exploiting or such has been found...basically everything worked fine, why would there be a wipe?

Maybe you're talking about games like AoC or Wow, i ono if they did as i dont follow them nor interested in them but the 2 mmos ive played so far went from beta>live w/o wipe.
