I dont understand what the big deal is about wiping either. You didnt participate in OB which like a few mentioned is your choice so why complain. If your that worried about being left behind you should do everything you can to get into OB.

Even if you dont its not like youll be the ONLY one starting out from level 1 thers going to be hundreds probably thousands of people just like you.

Besides b/c of the leveling curve its quite easy for you to bridge the gap between levels, not to mention the nice cheap gear youll be able to get from the Auction house from the higher ups.

I don't understand this point at all. Like Anirk said -- it was your choice not to participate in Open Beta. Again, Open Beta means.. open! If you didn't download the game, then that was your choice.

If you hadn't discovered Aion during Open Beta and so didn't get to download it.. well.. how is that situation any different from if you discovered the game a month after release?

By your reasoning, if all NA/EU people hate "having people waaay" ahead of them, then no one would ever download a pre-existing game.

Just a quick note, there has been some mention about there being just 2 days between end of OBT and the start of the live - From what I gather there's been extensive changed on a regular basis during the OBT - so it's not like they are going live with a barely-patched-over-the-last-2-days OBT version. The OBT has been to polish what was already pretty much finished.

TBH, I couldn't care less about how it affects Korea since it is an Open Beta. Over in the west tho, I care very much. We aren't getting Open Beta (hell, when was the last time we saw one of those anyway), we are getting preview events (whatever those are) with limited numbers. Sadly, the only reason this matters at all is because of the PVP aspect of the game. I don't think anyone would care if it was a PVE only game.

The preview events are a chance to try out Aion in it's release ready form, before the official release date. There is no testing required, you can just play and have fun. I've no idea if Preview Event characters will be wiped before release, but as I believe the events will be time limited, I doubt it will offer much advantage.

As to the limited numbers, I have no idea how limited those numbers will be as it's not been announced. But I wouldn't be surprised if they end up being less limited than people first assume.

You do realize that's no different than open beta, right? They are doing it for press and to stress test the servers. Mix in giving western audiences a chance to voice any massive problems and it's the exact same as an open beta. The only differences being it's a limited number of people and the time frames we're looking at. Maybe 3 different 'Preview events' each 2 weeks long spaced out over 2-3 months. I'm thinking they are calling them Preview Events only because they don't want to deal with doing a massive Open Beta here. Honestly, it's a pretty big hassle, all things considered. Of course, by NOT doing this, they won't get a very accurate feeling for how many players they'll be getting at launch.

The Aion websites can give you (slow but certain) updates on release dates, and then once you do get the game, everything will be beautiful and unspoiled.

Heh, it's not about me, these forums were not meant to spoil things for long time fans. People like you are just unnecessarily feeding those desperate for every bit of graphical and technical content.
It's good to update, and be informed (that's why I check the forums), but don't confuse that with "an information hungry forum".

Now, now, let's not start judging my personal character instead of my arguments with statements like, "People like you." Saying things in such a way tends to make things turn ugly.


In any case, I don't see how any of us can say, "These forums were not meant to.. [insert arbitrary purpose here]." The only person who can say such a thing might be Mark, since he created this site.

Fansites -- especially fansite forums -- are often propelled by the desires of the people within the forums. If the majority of the forum members want one thing, then can any one person (especially if you're not even admin) stand up and say, "No! The rest of you are wrong! I believe that this forum is to be used for THIS purpose, and this purpose alone!"

In any case, Mark has already said that he would create another section to contain most of the "spoilers." Even if the vast majority is eager for information, those wanting information should also be courteous to those who don't want spoilers. However, I would expect the same courtsey from those who don't want information -- i.e. "people like you."

Yeah, this a fan based forum, but that doesn't mean is filled with desperate nuts that will just devour any kind of garbage submitted by someone who just joined...ermm...this month, and has no idea of what this communitty is about

I'm glad Mark detected there's just way too much being spilled out from the "illegal" KOB players that are plaguing these boards.

I just want to clarify something to you, pretty much repeat myself (which I hate) I do want information, I just don't want garbage that doesn't contribute anything to the community at all, and just ends up spoiling the game experience for everyone else who is not in the KOB.

Hmmm I was wondering if we will get a forum almost like the one for CBT2 or 3 I forgot but it was called, "Got Questions? We'v answers" or something, but instead have it be for the OBT... Because well o.o, I have a few questions and I think many others do aswell. But until then I will ask these here.

Spoilers is why i come here. Its why i joined in the first place. Because this site had all the info b4 any other official source and they updated it more....If you guys are worried about spoilers you should've spoken up during maybe CBT1 or maybe CBT2 or maybe even CBT3 instead of waiting till OPEN Beta to start saying "Illegal!!!" "Spoilers!!"
