The way I see it, I'm glad we got another 4-5 months to wait before the game goes live in US. We'll get a much more complete and polished product than the Koreans, and that complete, polished product will have been bought with Korean money. Hooray for them paying for our beta!

Sarcasm aside, from what I've read elsewhere on this site, NCW is hellbent on stamping out botting on this side, so even if a lot are allowed to live on the Korean servers, that may not be reflective of what we'll see over here. Win-win for us.

Hopefully the E/A ratio on our servers will be a little more balanced or they can have the Balaur side with the losing side if the balance gets thrown off that much. They still have plenty of time to work all that shiznat out. ^,^;

If I was to prove myself here, I am guessing I'd have to every single post I read and translate those. Not only would that take forever, it would be way too much work to do for people who don't appreciate it.

If you think I am making this up, then kudos to you. I never made L2 comparison quest-wise. I said you shouldn't be expecting WoW's style of questing to level in Aion cuz that's not quite it. This game is like L2 in a way that it lacks depth in terms of pvp. It's about whose items are bluer. Its about which class NCsoft decided to make OP for the day. Whoever played l2 will know how NCsoft deals with bots. This is the same company here.

Botting is not neccesary? Did I say that it was..? People dun bot becuz they NEED to. They bot becuz its easier than doing it yourself. They are selling botting equipment in bunch of korean sites right now and NCsoft isn't doing jackshit.

Bots aren't an issue. Sir? Are you a botter?

To dismiss any and all threads as being "whiner threads " when there seem to be very detailed descriptions as to what is wrong ( whining is the exact opposite of that, you simply babble then, for the sake of posting negative ) isn't a realistic approach. For the sake of being on the safe side I'm going to belief Elliot's read on this . Better safe than sorry .

If - and only if - they don't address these issues prior to release in NA/EU they got another failure on their hands in western hemisphere. That isn't being negative , it's deductive reasoning from what we have seen happening to other NCsoft titles .

And alas WoW will remain champion of the MMO market?

This is coming form a consumer's point of view. If a company like Blizzard has an MMO product being consumed by millions around the world, and its contents can generally please any gamer, why would I look at Aion for any reason? WoW has dominated the MMO market for over four years now and has accumulated so much polish and innovation over the years. If a game like Aion is struggling with issues such as botting and population control, then why would someone like me care to give it a look? WoW has the occasional gold farmer, but other than that, its pretty much bot free. Sure, there are still some balancing issues, especially with the introduction of Death Knights, but out of all of the MMOs I've played, it still has the most balance with classes for PVE and PVP.

AoC was a fiasco. Warhammer was released at the same time as WoTLK and it is suffering due to bad release timing. WoTLK had just recently hit shelves and it will be a while until Blizzard conjures another expansion. The point I'm making is this: Aion has the stage ready for it. Veterans of WoW are salivating at the mouth for a new MMO experience and new players will question whether or not they would like to level a character in WoW and not play it in the future, or switch to Aion first off and level a character in that game, and Warhammer will still be lost in the wake of WoLTK suffering population issues. People would love a new MMO to come and sweep them off their gaming feet and whisk them away to a new fantasy adventure.

But if Aion releases while it is riddled with bots, balancing issues, and population problems, it doesn't matter how many Asians play or how many people bought it after OBT, it will not sell. People will play this game that is already fated to be compared to WoW, and people will find WoW to still be the champion of MMOs just because of its polish and solidity. Everyone knows MMO games are raw and rough around the edges at release. But people have been playing in an MMO market that is dominated by Blizzard's giant, and whatever releases is guaranteed to be compared to WoW.

Aion needs to be solid at release. Period. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. Its not fair. Its not right. But it is reality. This game needs to be almost as polished as WoW is now in order for it to be successful in NA/EU areas. In a way, it is a blessing the game was released in Korea and China before the west side. This gives NCsoft to plug away at glaring gameplay errors and iron them out before an NA/EU release.

The stage is set and WoW is waiting for Aion to step into the ring. We can only hope that NCsoft cracks down on the botting and class imbalances before the NA/EU release. Its the only shot Aion has at leaving its mark in the MMO industry for the Western Hemisphere.

My two cents.

Wow, that is bad!

I hope they get it all figured out for NA/EU Launch, as well. I don't know what is so hard about the bot thing? In the 4 years I've played World of Warcraft, I've never encountered a Bot. Same with Lord of the Rings Online over the past year +. I'm disheartened to hear about the lack of quests, too. I was really seeing Aion in the same light as western MMORPG's with an abundance of quests. It's better to have too many, than too little.

I understand that this stuff can change before NA/EU launch, but they better get busy if they expect to hold anyone over here. After all, it's not very far away.

why not give the in-game player the ability to kill bots. I'm sure there is some sort of algarythm that all bots follow. I know in Lineage2 the bots followed the leader. Couldn't NcSoft devise a way to identify bots based upon how they move or something like that and if a bot is spotted in game then a player can instakill it

The only thing NCsoft West can easily fix by itself (in my opinion) out of these concerns is this:

The bots.

NCsoft West can take a much firmer stance on bots, etc., than NCsoft Korea probably is. We just have to help them (report bots) and bug them (fill Ayase's inbox) until they do something about them.

Damn dude, elegance. Pure elegance. Couldn't have put it better. I have High hopes for Aion, and a big part of those hopes is not the game, but with NCwest, and how they deal with the crap plagueing the Korean release. To be honest, I don't really care if Aion beats WoW, if it makes it a better game, then by all means. What i want is a game that can really be considered the next step. EQ was the first, WoW was the second, and I hope for all our sakes that Aion is the third-what comes after, I don't really care. Oh, and don't forget the humiliation. All the friends who laughed in my face, about Aion, that it was going to be another grinder, that it would have farmers and botters up the wazzoo, that customer service would suck... what the hell am I going to say to them....

On the other hand, if Aion delivers... then I will have the biggest case of "I told you so's" in the history of... history.

Hellfire takes 4s to cast and have a 2min cooldown, sure it has insane damage, but 4s cast time? That gives most classes plenty of time to cancel the attack. Unless the mage come sneaking up on someone as shown in that mage pvp video.

Reverenth basically took my thoughts and expanded them in a way that I couldn't. Good **** there. Agree totally.

Again, Korea paying for our beta is win. Nobody stateside should be ****ed about this.

I strongly suspect that by the time Aion gets in our hands, and especially considering NCW's stance on bots, we won't have anything to seriously fear.

That's my opinion as well, major attack but has a GIANT opening in which any class could stun/stall them and cancel cast and kill them. As a player who's played mages in most mmo's he's played I can say any mage doing that would most likely be caught off guard and annihalated, unless they are against someone with major lag or doesn't know how to play their char (or lowwbie of course)

And in terms of glitches... we'll all have to wait and see *gives good luck to NCsoft*
