You can make whatever justification for bots, but companies have NO excuse to allow bots to exist in their games. If they really cared, they would be actively patroling lvling areas, banning bots as they see them. From day 1 of WoW, I have not encountered a single bot to this day.

They didn't ban bots in Lineage I. By design? Lineage I characters are worth far more than items to people who bot their healer. You still see bots everywhere in that game. Why? NCsoft doesn't care. ANother account = another 15 a month to them.

Players need to take a stronger stance about these issues or NCsoft isn't gonna care. I grow tired of taking crap from you. I took my time to share information about this because everyone here cares about this game and they deserve to know.

Players are the ultimate judge, if you think NCsoft has ruined it, you quit playing, bots would eventualy leave. Lineage I enviroment is way harder to control than Aion's, in a game where botting is so convenient, it reaches a point where almost everybody bots and then it sets a dilemma in wether to ban them or not.

You tell me that you haven't seen a single bot in WoW since you've been playing, I'm telling you I haven't seen a single bot in Aion since I've been playing, does this stance aprove botting in any way? No, it doesn't, I'm just telling you that the impression from those screenshots you've taken can't be seen ingame, in fact, if you didn't post it, I wouldn't know it.

Maybe, I'm yet to see one clearly (running against a wall with bloq num is something I also do to advoid being kicked while AFK) Am I making it sound like if I didn't want bots to be kicked out of the game? God please, no. I'm just saying that the situation ingame doesn't look like that at all, at least not on my server from what I've seen, so I'll take those post with a grain of salt and wait for the whole thing to develope, as I said, players are the ultimate judge, and just like I felt L2 wasn't worth my money, I'd be able to do the same with Aion if things really looked like those forums state.

This game design theory makes sense sure. Why pay 20 bucks for a bot program to bot in a game thats worth nothing? So in other words are you saying Aion players should just embrace bots since its by game design and NCsoft can't be blamed? Money is a strong factor in Aion. When you die from mobs, you have to pay to get rezzed(note this amount increases with your level). You have to pay to move from area to area. It isn't like WoW's 'oh 5s to fly not a big deal". Gear matters. When there's just 2 people standing still shooting same skills back and forth, its just gonna be about whose bow is bluer. I read posts of casual players that got driven broke by this game design to the point where they had to reroll. Have you seen how expensive the wings are? These bots arn't just farming regular mobs in Aion, they are also farming in set areas that spawn special monsters that have high drop rate for expensive items, which, by the way, NCsoft introduced as a way of making money in the game.

Part of having a legitimate argument is reading others' responses to know what we are actually debating about. I suggest you read the posts and articles before you respond so we can have a better discussion ^^

That's the exact attitude that let L2 bots roam free. Dun like bots? just quit then? I don't want to not play Aion because NCsoft is too retarded to let go of cheap profit. I, including many others, don't wanna see this game fail like L2 did.

RMT is also a huge issue in WoW, RMT is a huge issue in every single game, people are going to sell gold in games where economy matters (which btw, I prefer, even knowing that there will be shortcuts for the lazy ones) But botting is a different issue, do those sets compete against Abyss sets? Can bots do the instances to get the fallen angel set? Their influence is minor in the long term, they took a month or so to realize there wasn't a RMT market in WAR, it will take them some time to realize that people do not want ****** sets dropped on the level 30 areas, it will take them some time to realize that the best stuff in Aion is attached to the person's abyss rank (you can't just buy a set, you also need the pvp rank to wear it).

Yes, people bot in WoW, wether they interact with you/affect you dircetly or not that's a different issue.

The attitude? I think they've already realized that the bots issue in L2 is affecting the pre-views on all of their upcoming games, I mean, we all have, let's give them some credit to think they are not as retarded as we might want to pretend. If they haven't, then do the same for Aion, quit if bots really become an issue, whine, ***** and moan, but don't pay. Abyss gear wasn't amazing like people expected. Majority of your gear will come from grinding/crafting. It is not soon. We have to talk about it now. If it doesn't get fixed in the beginning, it never will. Thats why people on korean forums are going nuts over this. They are seeings bots increasing in numbers.

The crowded servers have blocked further character creations due to overpopulation. People are getting more ****ed at bots because of this. They are taking legit players slots.

Players are complaining that they also have to compete with bots for quest mobs. This is a severe issue if they are gonna make people lvl through quests. Keep in mind that everything is expensive during early stages of the game. When certain items drop in low rate and there's whole lot of people who don't have it, that item is gonna be worth a lot. If something is worth a lot, people are gonna farm it and bots have proven that they are best way of farming things over and over.

Is it really too soon to talk about bot catastrophe? When did AIon retail open for Koreans? They are seeing bots already. How many people do u think will be turned off when they have to fight over quest mobs with bots?

Yea people will leave if they don't like it. Seriously, why wait until that happens? WHy can't they fix it now?

I used to play wow and i have 3 lvl 70s (vencture co. server). and i have seen bots in wow many times and about 1/10 of ppl in bg were always using afk scripts(bot) to gain free honor pts. Also wow general & trade chat was always spammed by gold sellers lol and i think any wow players can back me up with this one.

I can go to Orig trade chat right now and sit there for an hr and not see a single gold seller spam. Occasionally, one would pop out but will disappear in a few mins. Thats WoW banhammer in action. Now I am not sure about pre-bc whatevers cuz I've been playing wow only for around a month. There's a difference between not giving a **** and trying and not being perfect. NCsoft has shown no effort whatsoever in dealing with bots.

A guild mate of mine explained the situation for competitive guilds who are into raiding in WoW, they all buy goid, some of them buy gold every single week in order to purchase grocery and stuff necessary in raids, RMT is a huge issue in WoW wether they spam you or not, spamming has proven as a faulty technique in WoW tho, since blizzard bans those who spam, gold sellers now keep a lower profile.

NCsoft not giving a **** in Aion will only lead them to a complete failure, maybe they need that to realize they can't keep this way, hopefuly they've realized and while we are keeping this meaningless discussion, they are already working on it.

Honestly, I could care less about RMT. Why? because it just can't be stopped in a popular game that has a real economy. How are you gonna stop it? Any ideas? Other than making it super easy to make money which would would turn off a lot of people.

People always say that. They are working on it working on it. If they are working on it, if you report a bot, it should be gone in at least 30 minutes, or even in a day. I read people talking about same bots being in their area day after day. I dunno. I don't think the are working on it. How is this discussion meaningless? Yea ok everything could change by the time we get the game. Wouldn't that mean everything that goes on is meaningless if its about Aion? why bother even making class forums now?

Again, did you even read my posts at all? Once you take a castle, your enemy has to wait for your guardian to spawn if they want to take it back, a whole raid organizes one day and takes all of the castles, it takes time for the guardians to respawn sometimes even days, thus why you can see these situations. Did you really expect all of the fortresses to be shared equally on all of the servers though? That's only the first layer of the abyss btw.
