ITs a really hard subject.

You have to look at it also as income generated by subscription.

The more Income generated by NCsoft the better our game experience will be long term.

I bleieve the problem does not lie in the botters themselves, it lies in the actual core game creation.

The botters have a desire to bot because they can generate profits, I.E selling game currency...

Why not make the game not be so influenced by a game currency and have something totally unique that will not be so enticing to botters to play in the first place.

It all comes down to return on investment. Just think about it, if you made a game and charged $15 a month to play and half the people were botters and the other half were not. would you cut the subscription of the 50% and in turn loose all that profit??

I dont mind botters at all, just allow us to farm them all day and night.

This bot issue has been brought up many times but i was wondering how much the bots actually affect gameplay. Are they just an eyesore or do they actually cause problems for other players (ie taking your mobs, etc).

That I can, and have, and do. Wish I didn't have to, though, but such is humanity.

Or perhaps we are the crazy ones and the crazy people are the normal ones. Bring on the WoW translation let see what this guy has to say. We got a few months until it is released in NA might as well do something in the mean time.

the bot problem is simply caused by how economics work . There wouldn't be this many bots - so shortly after release - if Aion wasn't completely money-driven ( I'm assuming it is ? ) just like L 2 is . If they don't address this issue before NA/EU release they need to realize Aion is going to fail utterly here .
They need to close massive amount of accounts of which they know these are operated by goldsellers. They need to go to the very core of the issue at the same time : make the economy less money-dependent . No demand ( or less demand ) for game currency= less bots .

Come down really hard on those bots -related accounts ( close and block IP#) .

I agree with this: you cannot completely get rid of goldsellers , but you can limit the annoyance caused by them by simply having far less bots around . The only way is to adjust the game's economy .
I don't agree with the last statement though : if those bots are still around come western release it's goodbye for Aion, it will fail .

I can feel the Korean player's pain but he's right, it SERIOUSLY isn't that easy to make bots poof for good. Players are going to still have to wait a bit before they can finally disown NCsoft for their lack of anti-bot support. They don't even know if they may be working on the issue now. I just hope they are.. It's going to have to take a few weeks though, or even more. I wouldn't lose hope at all at the moment!

Bots are EXTREMELY annoying for the main populace, it may not bother a few of us but it certainly bothers a lot.

Reasons for this is

1. They are blocking up all the servers for real people to play on
2. steal your kills and I believe they steal your loot now or something?
3. Can't level from so many of them
4. Causes the economy to be run by bot sellers which means items are usually higher priced
5. They're seriously annoying to see names like ashkdfshas in such a beautiful world that the artists and designers have created
6. They sell them to lazy people who can't play the game thus the botting continues which ****es the normal players off because people are simply paying for someone to play a character and make them stronger
7. I can see the annoyance of having 50% bots on a sever, that's like you're only playing with half server pop and it can never grow
8. Annoying when you can't bump into new people because you'd be mostly bumping into bots
9. Frusterating

Hm well BOTS are a major problem in every online game, as soon as developpers take care of one bot programm there is always another one....takes time to make somthing ultimate.

But i am not so sure that changing game economy will help!!!
If thet will make economy less money-depending than surely it will depend on somthing else (items for example, you cant make a game undependeble on anything, it will fall appart) and than BOTS will not farm "money-mobs" but "mobs with good drop" thus causing same problems, it'll be imposible for normal players to farm on those mobs.If there are BOTS there is no helping.....it has to be dealth with the brute force (BAN) >.< !!!

Well that's just my point of view.

P.S Thanx for the translate ceep up the good work.Any article is welcomed by me(i am not scared by WOW (")={^-^}=(") nya)

We are lucky enough to be basing our western release on an improved and even more polished version next year, so the infancy issues that are being brought up here will be addressed if they indeed prove to be a problem. Just as the Korean players who have experience with the Korean version of the game are its feedback base, we will of course be looking at our own version and getting similar continuous feedback on it from you guys, once we launch it here.

By the way. I enjoy the translations, also.

Em just a question how do you imagin economic relationship when only valuable item you can trade is acc binded ? )) (i am not that dumb)

If i made it kinda ununderstandabble than il refraze.

For economy to be stable there has to be somthing of high value which can be used in trade, seing as trading items is not always possible(no equal trade)

So if they will make the game undependeble from money they will require somthing else in return so that the players could make deals with eachother(i think that is common sence if realy, but anyway) and then BOTS will just stop farming money and start farming "the most valuable items" or simply getting the items which are used instead of money(jewelry for example).

Hope i cleared it out.

BOP is a retarded concept that ruins variety and economy and only was introduced to counter bots.

Which one is the lesser of the two evils? Dead economy or complete absence of bots/RMT.
