Would be nice if they had the dedication that the warhammer team does. I loved this post from Mark Jacob’s of Mythic about farmers.


For years, lowlifes like IGE have told us, in defense of their behavior, that they a) are just providing a service; b) don't interfere with players enjoyment of the game. Well, I can't argue with (a), they are providing a service, just like maggots I suppose but I've always argued that (b) is totally and complete BS. Now, those old arguments aside, I can't see how this new generation of pond scum (new and improved, with 25% more scummy action!) can argue that their constant spamming of chat channels doesn't interfere with players enjoyment of the game (I'm waiting for the whole "Oh, you can always just turn off chat" argument). I hated seeing their messages when I played WoW or any other MMO and I've been waiting for the day that WAR launched so I could have the absolute pleasure of instituting policies to make their lives more difficult so we could drive them out of WAR. BTW, for those who might be tempted to think that we are doing this so we could offer our own service or because we do make money off their boxes (traditionally, gold sellers will quickly shift to buddy disks and free trials though to lower their costs) let me tell you this. I’ve been offered “a piece of the action” both personally and corporately in the past if I will either turn a blind eye or help them in their actions. This would have netted me and/or Mythic a very, very tidy sum, far more than we would see from box sales. My answer was and always will remain the same:
Go to hell.


After playing years of Lineage 2 seems to me that NCSoft went the other way, and took the money.

I have a good feeling about Aion, but frankly given my past experience with NCSoft I do not expect anything significant to be done about bots.

Actually, I haven't. I never worked on L2 and neither did anyone here in my team. I trust that you have your reasons for being sceptical however and there is very little I can do about it. We've got one chance to prove ourselves when we release the game, and our team is not really in the mood of letting anyone down.

p.s: Do you know what L2 players think about NCsoft exacly?

Answer: We think that NCsoft run the goldseller's webpage and the main bot program called "L2walker" just to make extra profit... yes, is what we think about NCsoft.

This is very disturbing. i played lineage 2 since beta too for years and always hoped its not bad like that. i hope there was no such arrangement because obviously the professional gold farmers actually DO such offers to the developer so they get a cut and the farmers can keep running their business. i hope you are wrong with nc, that would be devastating for all NC Soft mmos if that was proven right.

I don't think I've ever called 'ridiculous' on anything said in the community before, but that, I'm afraid, is. Your and others' opinions on the matter is more than enough to show that doing something like that would be credibility suicide. Technically, the back is over the belt ... so...

To summarize, what I'm gathering right now is that you guys want to make sure that we are aware of that bots may be a serious issue when we release the game in the west and that we acknowledge this and act accordingly. Rest assured that we are aware, we are having internal discussion on how to best address it, and that we will act on it to make sure that Aion remains clean here in the EU/US.

I would like to add a little "something" myself .... The way it appears according to developers is that bots/gold sellers etc are not
for the best interest of NCsoft. So why don't YOU use spies ? Gms and moderators asking to buy gold or have a whole squad of NC workers search for sites/blogs with exploits etc that payment is a requirement in order to obtain the "goods" ? As soon as the deal is made ..BANG caught in the ACT.... Use your legal department ..ask your lawyers and SUE SUE SUE till 5th generation ....
Strip them of their pride ( you know that they laugh behind your back right ? ) and make them pay because I m sure that the same people exploit/farm/sell stuff not only 1 game but whatever is out there. It a regular job for them. They make money from it . The latest news is that they use REAL players that they have on their payroll playing the same char in shifts so they can avoid
the typical GM inspection. There is also ONE question that I think that's in everybody's mind : "If I know that ...and all these ppl
Know that...then how a company like NCsoft HAS NO IDEA about whats going on? This makes the average player skeptical about
joining a game that would probably end up like a re-heated plate served to them. We are on this together or not? Are we players
left on our own without the support of mother-company? Because if we are then GIVE US the weapons to defend ourselves because all these years of endless reporting probably were in VAIN.

Well i agree that dealing with BOTS is a problem.It is easy only when you know the persen who created that thing(usually they are normal guys and this is just their hobbys....most of them don't even play).

I never used any cheats or BOTS so i am not sure buut if i am correct every songle BOT activates when a certan programm is turned on and while playing player presses a specifik key.

Mmm it is possible to create a programm that will track down the users who press one specifik key "too often" (ofcorse we can't take in consideration keys that are used in gameplay, usually other keys are used like mmmm Home maybe)and by running this program it is possible to check different maps.
It is troublesome it is a real pain in the a** buuuuut i just can't think of anythink right now.

P.S if i said somthing really stupid dont tell me that OK pleeeease )))

About NCSoft being little cheaty bas*****.Emmm well i agree that if company will make a deal with moneysellers and etc they might get some extra profit, buuuut taking in consideration the fact that NCSoft is already under suspiccion i doubt they would risk their reputation for some extra few thousand euros(though i agree the ammount of money we are talking about is huge not only few thousands).

And about flaming that NCSoft newer replays and newer tells any details on how they are dealing with the BOTS.

Ayase said that they are doing their best.....look at the reaction of most people they start flaming on him like "we already hierd that you promissed you promissed"....my point is.....if everyone reacts that way for every post, where is the point in posting it??? It is impossible to tell you 100% how they are going to deal with the problem because they are not sure about it themselves!!!
