YNK Interactive is the publisher of that game. It came out in Sept of 2005. The only thing that YNK and NCSOFT have in common is that their HQs are both in Korea and they make MMORPGs. Now if you want to talk about bot fests that NCSoft is responsible for - Lineage II ---OP, Seriously where are you getting some of this stuff? Do you just make it up? EDIT: BloodGem caught it. Kudos! There are many intelligent people out there that get their kicks making these types of bot programs just so they can say they did, or even to make money, but on the same hand I am sure NCSoft has may smart people on there team.
Aion will only be only my second online game to play the one I am playing now is over run with bots and there seems to be no hope of getting rid of them since the majority of the player botters are the ones supporting the game when they by silk, which is used to by other things in the game, and the gold botters just seem to spawn out of no where even after a bot ban. I am still going to play Aion with hope and confidence that Ayase and his team will do what they can to keep the game fair and honest for us all. I am sure they are learning what they can from the Korean release and hopefully they can use it to keep bots out of the game here. |

On russian forums it sounds a bit softer: towaker is a company being hideously supported by ncsoft (by internal game documentation and soft bot policy), for exchange towalker shares a part of its profit. That point of view even present on Wikipedia page about Lineage II. People who trust in that conspiracy theory even says: "If you'll use cracked bot sw, you'll get banned, so pay for bot and ncsoft will not touch you" ![]() |

Aion already has soulbound items, both bind on pickup (really rare ones, never seen one myself other than quest items) and bind on equip.

WARNING extremely negative sounding post incoming. This post isn't meant to flame NCsoft in anyway, it just outlines my personal experiences with MMOs in the past both NCsoft and other dev/publishers, and can easily be applied to the current situation/discussion with what I feel, 98% accuracy.
FACT : The US/EURO release will always be at the mercy of the Korean playerbase. Meaning our version will be no different then theirs except for language, and our input will mean nothing to Korean devs. We are extra revenue for them, never forget that fact. FACT : Ranged classes (especially mages) will always be OP. FACT : Melee classes will always be grossly underpowered in comparison. FACT : NCsoft loves bots and will do little to nothing about them because they are paying accounts. FACT : NCsoft will provide lip service and empty promises till the end of time about fixing these issues like every other dev/publisher but will not and can not possibly win the battle against bots, nor balance ranged vs melee in a way a majority of players find acceptable. FACT : You will just have to suck it up and deal with it when US release hits. Just hope they take measures to combat and limit the map/world/private/email chat spam. I'm as much a fan as the next guy here on the forums, but a little dose of reality will do a lot of you well. Might sound negative sure, but getting hyped up over all the gum drops and lollipop BS from the people trying to sell you this product will only leave you feeling disappointed in the end. If NCsoft can deliver on fixes and show that they are one of few devs able to understand their player base then I would be very impressed and am ready to sing praise to them. Till then remember they are a business that is in business. So priority #1 is always the green, not the players. You can argue that they go hand in hand, but tell that to all the other failure MMO devs who don't listen to the players. Be happy with what you get, don't expect the world. What would you define as a good thing? Information on the game? Theres plenty of info on the game out there. Wouldnt a good thing be like "omg Ive never seen this before!! There are not bots on the server!?!!?" ? Unfortunately thats not the case. If they give something good to report on he posts them up. |

Well, for one I would like to say that there are plenty of conspiracy theories, and definately a greater than or equal to ammount of qqing about subjects that shouldn't really matter. We as gamers would definately love the thought of a bot-free game and of course have run across several private servers that have better prots to get rid of such " illegal activities " that go along with all of the TOS games make you sign, or rather, click yes to accept.
The bottom line being that Aion is epic as alot of us have seen during kOBT... but that will not stop the fact that there will be people who simply want to bot, as well as people who do it for a living. At first there was a heavy ammount of QQing going on about the game coming out in Korea first, then China, etc etc. (Of course I did a fair ammount of that QQing as well for reasons that shall not be posted because i'm just too lazy) Honestly if everyone has a problem with botters then we as gamers should take action instead of sitting around on our arses crying about idiotic matters. Yes, NcWest is a new branch and should be started with a clean slate, though it is simply that.. a branch. (Sorry Ayase) And yes, we are at the mercy of the korean devs, even though NcWest could simply create their own patches. We as gamers equally share the same goal and I believe we should all band together and find some form of law against illegal activities.. Going to pay about $15 a month for Aion? If each of us give a dollar, i'm preetty sure it'll be enough to hire a lawyer. One opening arguement could be the fact that Aion was released in Korea first, which was completely understandable but everyone not of Korea were basically excluded which caused a fanbase to resort to illegal activities. Though any gamer with half a brain would simply say " My friend who lives in korea made the account for me so I got to test it. " or some crap like that. You look at the other side of the coin and you've got, not just Aion, but years of illegal activities being conducted by koreans. These gold sites? Korean... Bots? Created by mostly koreans... And it's not something new... since Runescape you've got mostly koreans creating such things. (Sorry if I am sounding a bit racist) My point being that we should hire a lawyer to find ways just to get us gamers point across " We do not want bots. " by means of lawsuits and other such crap. |
