Well I would like the hero system to be more similar to L2 too... a hero per class would be best solutions instead of one ArchLord
But lets see how it works out...Hehe its a long way to go, I am Sergeant now *rofl* ^^ |

I would have liked to see a progressive, but minimal incentive across the lower to middle abyss ranks. For a lot of PvPers the PvP is incentive enough - but if there needs to be an individual incentive to PvP it should not translate into a skills or gear availability incentive unless the incentive is extremely marginal. PvPers will always go for it - even a 1% increase in critical hit rate is good enough - every serious PvPer will try to squeeze out the most advantage that they can. But at the same time, extremely marginal advantages don't make the PvP experience game-breaking for PvPers who start out later than the first pack at release.
Better stats, gear, skills based on PvP ranks is nothing to celebrate. The hero system in L2 was not good for PvP in general and Olympiad was a joke. I can't wait for clans reaching cross-faction agreements to farm points off each other in the Abyss at higher ranks with the points gamed/lost ratio being higher than 1. And at lower-middle levels there will be workarounds to farm points. Two clans can hold down the hero class for themselves for eternity. Good game. If the advantage is marginal it doesn't matter - server wide announcements, unique skin etc is cosmetic. But if the benefits become tangible for sieges and when points farming starts, it's not going to be pretty lilies for the average gamers rejoicing now. Quote:

U sure that rank class is legit?
The lowest rank you can get right now is 9, and then you work up... I do have a gladiator and its rank 7 and it started at 9 i believe 9 to 8 is 1,200 abyss points 8 to 7 is 4,xxx abyss points 7 to 6 is 10,800 abyss points... At least thats wat i have on my char window.. ly where did u get that info..perhaps its too old. |

I wouldn't really care about maintaining hero status. The fact that you got to hero status should be enough imo. However it would be interesting to see who could hold out the longest on your server.

The stats are from the powerbook iitself, titles from elsewhere.. Infos are legit.
What you're saying are the actual levels as you are getting closer to rank10. You see, in the korean version, the titles for the first 9 ranks are 'Soldier lvl9' - 'Soldier lvl8' - 'Soldier lvl7', etc. After rank 10-14, it is 'Captain lvl 1-5', and there are different titles for each higher rank (general, warlord, commander, com-in-chief, hero). Hero Class?...rubbish... I do not like the idea at all... No I am not L2 fan (only played for a week)...but why should the top pvper on the server be labeled?...not all hardcore pvper want that kind of attention...ranking is awesome..but Hero Class?..and since they are the top pvper on the server they get acess to hero class gear? (from my understanding?)...So aion pvp is going to be heavily based on gear like WOW :x?... Besides people will know who the top pvper on their server is eventually with ranking alone...I guess I have to see how this plays out....Maybe I am misunderstanding the concept...if hero class was just title then I would have no problem with it...but allowing them acess to hero class specific gear? and making them some sort of miniboss?...I do not support at all
