Yeah, I've played FFXI before this and crafting in FFXI means watching an animation of similar duration for each crafting attempt AND clicking a few things for each new attempt. I was quite pleased when I found out Aion has a 'craft all' feature. I was a bit worried playing Aion somewhat competitively would be as time consuming as FFXI, but features like that make it much more suitable for us casual MMORPG players.

Ok, I just found this out. Heres how you can cut your craft time in half.

USE TRANSFORMATION ITEMS!!

Such as all that halloween candy. While your transformed your character wont do that stupid little dance at the end of each combine and save you like 2-3 sec per creation.

I would totally love to see the crying babies play EQ. That was the hardest ever. Not only you have to click each item one. You have to put them into a specific container then hit combine. Talk about time consuming.....

I agree the combine process is too slow but like everyone else has said, put it on craft all and go do something else. Even with work orders, I setup the # combines I'll need then I'll go afk for few minutes and come back and check it, turn in, etc. It's really not bad when you don't have to stare at the screen for the entire time. I also like to read the news, entertainment by alt-tab out.

I love the fact that it takes an hour to do enough combines to even begin skill ups it makes for a good market by cornering lazy people. I have made loads of kinah by selling ingots crafted from ore and leather crafted from rawhide for sometimes 5x the price of the raw material. There will always be lazy people who dont wanna spend time crafting so i just supply them with stuff that I can make while watching TV.

You've actually sold the leather? omg. I literally trashed a stack of 100 leather lastnight to make room in my warehouse because I figured it would never ever sell (my broker was full too so I couldn't have sold it). I find it suprising that people even bother to craft whites to be honest. It may be just me but I love having a full blue set for each level bracket. The crafted blues just look expensive and flashy and you can almost tell right away when someone is wearing a set.

sooo, when i craft, im basically wasting my time? I LOVE CRAFTING, every game i have played i got a feel of the crafting system, and well, AIONs reminds me of my first online game. FFXI. YUK. too many player gathered mats.Making like 7 different items for one Item and than "omglemmecrossmyfingersandhopethelast8hoursofgathe ringandcrafting" has paid off. and, well, most of the time it doesnt...but im still very hopeful

with that said, give aion about 5 years or so, and itll change things, i think. but, by than, most of us will have moved on.

Dead eh?

Lotro currently has 280,000 Active subscriptsion...

War has about 160,000 Active subscriptsions...

AOC, well arround 100,000 or so...

Now times each one by 10 to get the net trunover for each company per month.
Even AOC is pulling in 1million turnover per month. Hardly a dead product, most companys would love that kind of figure.

Oh and before you ask, this info is from MMO Data

I can just see it now... Ohnoes Lotro only brought us in 2.8Million last month.... Best can that project as its clearly Dead ...
