That is not an "official post" but a Wiki article.

Either on this forum or one of the other fan forums, there was conclusive evidence with both 0 and 4000 DP that it does NOT affect your critical rate. Unless a patch more recent than those tests implemented new logic, I would say please halt that rumor.

Check first page, it tell you you have to start to do that work order for 18 shields, thats the first step and starts you on your quest.

I was lucky today got 3 Worthy Premium Armor Flux for 250k Kinah total, so just need 2 more to get me started on my first attempt

Wow, did the guy price it by mistake or is your server so full of bots that they can undercut each other that much. They're easily 800k to a mil a piece on my server.

Enough bots here for sure, but he must either not know what value it has or made a mistake. I was happy anyway to get them so cheap. 1 for sale here atm for 1.2 mill, I won't pay that or 700k if the price is there.

Agree the fluxes are overpriced. There are only 3-4 sellers on Asmo-Nezekan and selling for 1.3 - 1.5m each.

I really wish I could find that study. It looked at several hundred (thousand?) crafts, what time of day, how much DP you had, how many you crafted, and parsed through looking for patterns and found none.

That said, I know now of four people who've specifically told me they found the "secret" to a near guaranteed HQ proc every time, but I still don't know what it is.

They're wanting C-Aion prior to Patch 1.2 fixes. Geeez.

Just some fun from my log. I welcome the study, but for me personally, I have observed a difference between 4000 DP + "Craft All", and no DP.

I was told about the 4000 DP and "Craft All" having a better chance to crit on 10/26 and started using it the next day 10/27 (Yesterday). I didn't take it for gospel but I started doing crafts in batches of 3.

I will update this daily though I finished most of the crafting for my legion since hitting expert.

Edit 11/01: My entire crafting log is here for the expert stuff: http://www.ffmaps.com/flipt/critlog.txt

Possible new finding
: Could it be that taking time to craft (i.e. not blast crafting but crafting just here and there) actually ups your crit chances? See my log posted above. I'm starting to notice this, and will (try) to craft no more than 2-3 items daily and check crit rates. A lot of my crits occur on the first, second, or third combine since taking a break from crafting. For example, look at all the times between 10/29 to 11/01, and then look at previous dates when I was blast crafting. Coincidence?

10/23: Obtained Expert Armorsmith at 11:30pm with 4,000 DP (Coincidence) first try on shield.
10/24: Non-Crits crafted: 22 - Crits crafted: 3
10/25: Non-Crits crafted: 16 - Crits crafted: 3
10/26: Non-Crits crafted: 24 - Crits crafted: 2
10/27: Non-Crits crafted: 47 - Crits crafted: 14
10/28: Non-Crits crafted: 14 - Crits crafted: 1
10/29 (Updated): Non-Crits crafted: 4 - Crits crafted: 4
10/30: Non-Crits crafted: 2 - Crits crafted: 1
10/31: Non-Crits crafted: 4 - Crits crafted: 3
11/01: Non-Crits crafted: 0 - Crits crafted: 2

Latest 3 days from log just in case I suck at counting:

Thanks for your updates, vexacion!

One thing I'd like to point out...it seems like the % crit are off? [Non-crit + crit = total attempts]. [Crits / total attempts = crit %], right? Looks like you're using [Crit / Non-Crit = %]. Regardless, it seems to me that having 4,000 DP isn't positively impacting your numbers at all. Your six-day totals are:

Craft attempts = 152
Non-Crits = 125
Crits = 27

Non-Crit % = 82.2%
Crit % = 17.8%

On average, people are seeing a 20% HQ proc rate and sometimes as high as 30%. Your average is slightly below that, which leads me to believe that it's still as random as ever. I'm interested in seeing what happens over the next week! Thanks again for the updates.

He had stated he only started using full 4000 DP on the 27th after hearing about it on the 26th. From the looks of it he has alot more crits from 27-29 then the previous days.

-------------------------

Since he started using 4000 DP to craft he has attempted 63 tries, 19 which were criticals.

19/82 gives us 23% critical rate with 4000 DP. (27th-29th)
8/70 gives us 11% critical rate with 0 DP.(Assuming zero or little DP, 24th-26th)

From these results so far we can see that the DP seems to have a effect on how many critical's he gets.

Fixed the % calculations since i fail at addition.

Not looking forward to doing the master quests on either of my two of choice. (armor and alchemy)

10/23: Obtained Expert Armorsmith at 11:30pm with 4,000 DP (Coincidence) first try on shield.
10/24: Non-Crits crafted: 22 - Crits crafted: 3 (13.6%) - 12% crits this day
10/25: Non-Crits crafted: 16 - Crits crafted: 3 (18.8%) - 15.8% crits this day
10/26: Non-Crits crafted: 24 - Crits crafted: 2 (8.3%) - 7.7% crits this day
10/27: Non-Crits crafted: 47 - Crits crafted: 14 (29.9%) - 23% crits this day
10/28: Non-Crits crafted: 14 - Crits crafted: 1 (7.1%) - 7.7% crits this day
10/29: Non-Crits crafted: 2 - Crits crafted: 4 (200.0%) - 66.7% crits this day

I first heard about the "one off" theory back in early June on my C-Aion server (I'm sure other places discussed it, but that's when I first heard about it). The problem we ran into was trying to figure out how much time should pass between attempts in order for it to be "fresh". In other words, is there a higher chance to craft crits if you only do one craft an hour, or never attempt more than three crafts back-to-back each day. It *appeared* there was some kind of connection, but because sample sizes are so small and it takes weeks to really gain enough data to analyze, it just kind of dropped off.

I really appreciate the time you're taking to update this daily. It could make a big difference if we were able to find a core timer or mechanic. Of course, it could all just be luck and this game is bloody random as is.

Where the hell does it say that in your link? I see nothing like the statement above.

I just hit 399 last night, but still don't have the recipe for the Green shield. Planning on grinding some cash, and trying to finish the white->green shield and then try to get the recipe. I have enough fluxes for almost 4 tries on the green->blue now, so I am getting there.

It's only about luck - gathered/bought fluxes for 2 tries at level 50 shield , spent all my money on mats and yesterday mornin went and give it a try

It crited the first try - i was like omg , then i canceled the second try so i can resell the fluxes now to make some money for starting the expert crafts

After finishing the expert quest , with all my mats that i had in inventory tried my first expert craft - level 35 shield (the recipe for it you got from finishing expert quest) - guess what, it crited again - and now i am the proud owner of a level 35 Expert Noble Adamantium Shield - so it is pure luck as i said before

If it cares for you , even if i dont believe it , crafted , a day before trying expert , 3 green level 43 orichalcum helms (no crit) so i thought it will come a crit after these greens, and also i had full DP on me when i tried the expert quest
