How do you deal with this
How do you deal with all the under cutting thats going on. At one point I was the only person selling something for a fair price on the market (factoring my mats at the broker prices and npc fees) and then some butthole comes along and under cuts me by more than half of what I list it for. Its going to take a really long time to sell this from the way it looks. I was wondering do you just keep relisting it till it sells?

I don't craft anything to sell on the AH. Only time I craft is:
A) Fill a slot with severely outdated gear and none of the dropped gear has stats I like while crafted has better stats B) Guildie request C) Someone looking for a specific item crafted In the time it takes to find something maybe worth selling, calculating the costs and crafting it, I could have gone out and soloed and made more. |

I just refrain buying any mats except for flux simply because they don't drop much. So the finished products have more time invested than my actual money. It slows down your character progress a lot but I'm not too worried about that.
Just look at my terrible gear and low level: Aion™ Online :: Character & Legion I'm even wearing some white gear that I crafted for myself haha! I was actually wearing all white for awhile and had to force some crafted greens on myself and a white bow yet, I've crafted countless blues and undercut prices by as much as 100,000k and still made loads of cash. I die so easily...but I'm so rich. edit: I'm well aware that eventually, the current playerbase around my level will out-level my craftables and the next wave might not have as many gold buyers. Gonna milk this for as long as I can. Last edited by Bankotsu; 10-24-2009 at 03:57 PM.. Reason: forgot to add something..proof read k |

When I craft armor, I usually craft 10 pieces at a time in hopes of getting procs. In the end getting 3-5 procs out of 10 will substantially make up any costs to make said 10, essentially allowing me to sell the greens way below cost. This is what happens, well I hope its the reason people are selling so cheap and not just being moronic, it is the reason I sell cheap. I know its tough for up and comers, but if you want to make any money back from greens you need to make it in mass in my opinion.

That's the best way to do it. If you can gather the capital to start, go for volume and sell cheap. |

what Bob says.
I only craft for myself and guildmates. I make more money harvesting stuff to sell on the AH. 3 hours of gathering I made 2million. Making Ingots & crafting to hope for a gold in 3 hours... and then you gotta sell it... __________________ 401 Armorsmithing! |

I'm sure farming items and selling them is more efficient. I guess some people just enjoy producing and competing. Your gambling when you spend all that time just for a chance to make something that will bring you money. I think I'm just addicted to the risk/reward thing. I have at times failed to make anything that will bring alot of money...yet I still do it haha.

I had to make 3 helms to get my Blue lvl 28 one and I put the 3 Grees up on the broker for cheaper then anyone elses I think It was like 67,000 and someone came along and under cut to selling theres for 37,000... It was either those prices or 37,000 / 17,000 I can't remember but they undercut me by about half. And they were selling it for cheaper then what it cost to make.. Needless to say I have 3 green lvl 28 helms sitting in my mailbox from expired auctions

So thats why most ppl put it up at under the price, so they can get some money back from the investment they made in makeing that Proc item. Besides, you dont think that Crafted armor can compete with drops in price do you, so noone is going to craft anything to make money. On the other hand we got ppl putting the Proc's up at a way overpriced. I mean at my server Worthy Noble durable titanium shields are on the Broker for 650k, for that price you can try to craft it yourself almost 5 times |

If someone undercuts you by 20% or more than just buy his **** out and sell it for the same price as your other one. Don't back down on the market, set the standard.

Lets say I have enough kinnah for 5 attempts at 1 item, and I want to make myself a blue piece (armor, sword or whatever). I buy the mats and give it a shot. If 2 proc and the other 3 don't, I can sell 1 blue at a good price (espeicailly if its rare on the server), and undercut the other 3 that didn't. All in all I make out in the end.
If I can break even or close to it I'd be happy since I have a blue for myself to use, and start getting money back together for the next piece I want. Crafting in this game is more like an addiction where I get high on my own supply, and I dont' care about the kinnah. I mean what am I spending kinnah on anyway if its not for me crafting my own stuff? ------------------------- I think one of the other problems with the game's system in general is that there is no variation in each item. I can't make a better pair of Worthy noble durable adamantium sword. I can make a different item, but not a better (or worse) version o this item. Not being able to make a beter product is rough. Things did get a bit better, I sold a few things, almost made 1 million kinah this weekend. I finally got enough cash to start on my own full set of armor. Basically I was doing the crafting to make enough to pay for flux's to make my own gear. So I got about 75 worthy armor flux. What I plan on doing is grinding it out to get more titanium ore, create 1 full blue plate and chain suit for my chanter and gladiator. Use the next tier of flux's to craft armor just for selling to save up for my lvl 33 set and possible put some cash aside for the expert quest. I been fearing that for a while now because everyone says its so hard and expensive. Knowing me and my luck I will have to do like 50 tries.
