That's Stealth. Same animation seen in videos for skill usage, character turning half-transparent for you...

a list of skills would clear all this up nicely. Great vid btw... unfortunately i missed what you all were talking about (i was kinda wrapped up in the moment :P)

anyway, would it truly be such a horrible thing if you had to exit stealth, wing up, then go after the guy? I mean, after all, if he saw you coming then the entire point of stealth is kinda defeated isn't it? What i would like to see is, if stealth works anything like in WoW, where the closer you get the easier it is to see you, then you should be able to attack him even if he is only a few feet off the ground (in other words, within a reasonable, reachable limit) That way, even if he does manage to get his wings out and start flying, you have a chance to catch him before he gets too far.

Assassins in this game can stealth mid-combat? because I saw a video where they used stealth went to the monster attacked it for 500 fought it some Half HP they TP behind the enemy and keep attacking it.

But, anyways Assassins as mentioned will have the upper hand if they catch you off guard, though when I know I'm in a PvP zone and people are playing assassins even though I'm doing my own thing I'm always prepared for when one comes out even when your attacking a monster.

I'm just hoping this doesn't turn out to be another WoW fest where everyone just picks assassins and have the entire server being 90% assassins after all people love power.

Actually, there is only one hiding skill :

Hiding : Hide the character during 20 sec and reduces your speed by 40%.
40 Mp, instant cast, cooldown 30 sec.

So yes in the video I posted you can see the assassin is using the "hiding" skill in flight.

That's not what I meant, I'm talking he is attacking you and you are attacking him and he uses stealth.

In that video the Assassin runs away from everyone i.e. getting out of combat, and uses Hide and goes for the Sorcerer.

Similar to WoW where the Rogue runs from the warrior or the class that's chasing it besides a mage and gets out of combat and press stealth to come back again.

In Aion you don't need to be "out of combat" to use "hiding". I think the assassin was waiting his hiding skill cooldown to use it again in the arena video.

As far as rogues are concerned in WoW, they were an amazing class, loads of fun...and very high damage.

But if Aions Assassin is modeled in anyway from the "rogue" class from WoW i may stray away. I want something different, and judging by the assassin description i think it will be. this is a more realistic game, in terms of look, feel...and general presentation and i would hope their characte classes reflect that.

I love the rogue class, but it is time for an MMO to stand out with their classes and really seperate them from the rest.

Ah yes the Assassin I wonder if it will be like the rogue in WoW, Im not sure if im going to be an assassin since I was a 70 rogue already so I might become a mage, cause if it is going to be anything like it is in WoW, rogues got pwned by mages so Assassins might be the same, not so sure though =0 thats if Aions mage has kiting abilities and aoe to bring the assassin out of stealth then its game over pretty much just like it was in WoW...I hates you kiters! you always killed me with your dirty slowing tactics!!! And you attacked me with your ranged shots while I couldnt even get close enough to you for a single attack!

Now I have decided...I am not playing an assassin...

RYL(Risk Your Life) Assassin > Aion Assasin

(To this who never played legendary game RYL the assassin gains speed for dexterity stats as well as skill level, so by maximum level assassin can run ~2 times faster with out stealth and 4 times faster with stealth then other characters)

thats sounds realy interesting. becuase that would mean i guess that they should have more power/speed/defence. that rogues like in wow (yawn they died so easly even whit all my hunter nerfs. i just put the trap 3 feet behind me :P)

just watched that video, and dang, they got some huge honkin range on mele weapons. Really hope they tone that down (to keep it realistic)

dang... thats some pretty beefed assassin... id almost call that unfair

I'd also like to add that hiding in Aion does not make you invisible to human sight. You will still be visible to all players (your character will be come more translucent), but you will not be able to be targetted whatsoever.

No! this would ruin attacks that have to be placed from behind (assassins stile ya know?) so they would just take thier own position for the best fight. (they can becuase of the 40% slow).
