i think rather than going sort of transperant you become like in halo when you get that cloaking thing. that worked awesomely in rocky and grassy areas. i think it should be that your visible while moving but if you stop moving your invisible. that way you could walk up to them and stop moving when you think they could see you then when your reasonably close shadow step behind them (surely there will be a skill that teleports you behind them) and away you go!

i intend to be an assassin, not because i think theyre the strongest or anything but because i like to use tactics, and assassin seems to be the most tactical class. but i may end up going cleric because i see too many people going ranger, ranger can be ranger and a half decent assassin, which sucks for those who want to be dedicated assassins.

rangers should stick to being rangers.

I think the best system would be translucent withing a certain range 10 feet or so, and outside of that they stay invisible, but maybe chanter/cleric can have a buff/skill to increase stealth detection

Ouch, seriously? Won't be very useful in PvP, then...
Either
A) You're trying to get away with stealth. Which doesn't work if they can see you and you're moving 40% slower.
Or
B)You're trying to sneak up on someone. Which, again, wouldn't work if they're paying attention to their surroundings. Sure, you can still teleport...but you can do that while running straight at them unstealthed if you wanted to. Furthermore, with the aforementioned scenario, it seems like stealth and any skills that require it would be more of a hindrance/annoyance than anything...

Ah well, still going assassin regardless of how their stealth is being set up. Just have to be a bit more sneaky than usual.

and still they get woned by the few skilled hunters
but in wow i think they made this stun thingy not clever. but bleh i don't care about wow anymore it sucks nowdays.

but i would love the idea of beeing seens whiting a certain distance. and than also just normal speed in stealth.

i see a assassin as a fast moveing killing machine who knows how to hide. but we will see we have betas to come and things will change i think it is overal to much to talk about classes now actualy.

interesting, though the jumping around made it hard to judge the speed differences.

I have to say this tho, in that running FASTER while trying to be stealthy is kind of a contradiction. Usually when you try to sneak you take it slow and steady, to make sure you dont slip up and, say, step on a twig.

And im going to agree with those defending the WoW rogue. The stealth was a plus, it let you go places other people couldnt, to balance that they made you walk slower, so in the end getting to places may or may not have been any faster, but you had to deal with less fighting.

However i can see that the lack of defense could also be a counterbalance to speed. If you cant take the hits, then speed allows you to be a hit and run class, avoiding hits in a different way.

There are 28K crits in that vid. Just how many HP do ppl get?

One shotting someone your level is an aberration imo. Burst /= one shot.

Combat should actually mean something and last a few seconds no matter the difference in gear.

Also stealth = slower movement, and I'm hoping it'll be the case. It's not only logical, but balancing.

Assassins aren't pumped up mythical ninjas, which is what most ppl think of when they choose them as a class still, and why 90% of rogues suck.

I played with that person in the video on one server.
Was playing an opposite class mage(runeoff)
And he couldn't one hit me when we were the same PVP level.

I had 13k hp, and usually with a critical I had left 11k

In RYL everything matters ( PVP level (gained by PKing) + HP + AC + Def rate )

I never played wow, so I have no idea how things are there, but my friend who played a sin said they were balanced, thought I am not sure how they will end up in Aion.

I never had a problem with rogues on my hunter after I learned the best offense to rid of them, Frost trap + Wing Clip + Pet + Sleep shot (forgot real name) = hunter win, even with flee and Cloak of Shadows they were effect by the frost trap and wing clip there for I always ran faster than them while my pet kept on them, I would kite back and forth through the trap and reset a new one once cooldown was done and if they ever kept on me I would get distance and sleep shot and redistance myself and aim shot them before beginning again.

That was my way of ridding of rogues, besides that I always pay attention to my surroundings when in a PvP zone knowing a stealth class can be watching me as I level I always thew flares as I grinded / moved around in a leveling spot and usually had a frost trap near me.

Now in PvP MMOs that have a stealth class Its hard to surprise me because I'm always looking around.

Shadowstep rapes hunters, if a ShS rogue loses to a hunter they are pretty much terrabad, even dwarves are ezmode now.

And for those of you who don't know, its usable out of stealth now.
Shadowstep
10 Energy 25 yd range
Instant 30 sec cooldown
Attempts to step through the shadows and reappear behind your enemy and increases movement speed by 70% for 3 sec. The damage of your next ability is increased by
20% and the threat caused is reduced by 50%. Lasts 10 sec.

If you read my post it says nothing about using stealth in flight, but taking off while in stealth.

I've seen a couple videos where the assassins have gone into stealth, had the enemy take flight and had to come out of stealth to take off. I really don't think they would come out of stealth just for the hell of it. To me this would make playing an assassin a pain in the ***.
