I know the main way of fighting with the assassin is to sneak up on enemies then do a lot of damage with one hit, but what about after that? or in pvp? Are they still strong when they are fighting face to face?

The main issue I can see with assassins is the fact that they cannot take flight while in stealth. If a potential enemy knows an assassin is around all they have to do is take flight and wait them out or spot them from above...
Not to sure about the damage but it seems it would likely be burst and alot of positional attacks. So your damage would probably be tied to how well you could handle your character and position yourself for your combos in PvP.

aside from the way you use skills i think it will be a similar to a dagger in l2...they can deal the most dmg of any class with their blows, but put a dagger face to face with a tank, gladiator or something and it will get owned, but if you can use it right, it can be a deadly class.
i dont think its going to be very similar in strength/usefulness as a rogue in WoW. Its more of a high dps in short burts compared to high sustained dps

Can't tell for sure..since the game isn't out yet. But I'll go off experience from other games.

The power of the assassin in PvP comes mainly from one thing: The element of surprise. When caught off guard, people are more prone to make mistakes, which gives you the upper hand. Furthermore, thanks to the assassins damage output...the act of taking them down while they're still in a state of shock is made rather simple. Of course, should they see you first...you will lose quite a bit of your effectiveness over the enemy. From then on...you better be good at position and keeping your cool. Wouldn't want to mess up a chain or time things incorrectly. =p Quote:

And then a lot of stupid fights will break out because for some goddamn reason Assassin's Creed became a love-it-or-hate-it game with either side being on a completely different end of the spectrum. (Personally I loved it, though I'm not creative enough to form any comebacks against the opposition. *Shrug*) I'd almost prefer Naruto and Sasuke because of the outfits; it would be easy to see someone attacked by a character in bright orange regardless of whether or not they were cloaked before. It's like a beacon that says "Please PK me." But then we'd be chat-spammed with spoilers and the resulting arguments of who's more badass. Ah...Such is life with an assassin class. Guild Wars was amusing with all the useless A/Ws running around with Fellblades trying to be Zabuza, at least. |

AFAIK stealth won't be available while flying. As for the if-I-want-to-escape-an-Assassin-then-I-fly thing: You'll be able to -lets say- one minute. After that minute you'll have a cooldown and can't fly. Either the Assassin has first-hit and he don't care if he fights on ground or in the air the next seconds/minutes or you see the Assassin approaching and start flying. Then he lands and stealths and waits until you can't fly anymore and finish you during your cooldown.
I'm going to play Assassin and I'm not concerned that Assassins can't stealth during flight. It's all about playstyle and tactics. Edit: I've watched the video closely and I'm pretty sure that it's stealth during flight. I'm not sure if it's some sort of "Vanish"-spell, because he is definetly infight and normally you can't restealth while you're infight. However... I guess we have to wait for clearer infos.
