i'm curious as to how Aion is going to implement dual wielding. from the MMO's i've played, these were the styles i've encountered.

Everquest: each weapon had a delay and they swung independant of each other. each weapon did full weapon damage.

Lineage 2: these were "crafted" dual wield weapons that fit into 1 slot on the character sheet. they looked like dual wielding, but they only had 1 damage value and 1 delay value, though higher than their seperated counterpart.

World of Warcraft: each weapon had a delay and they swung independant of each other. however, there were penalites for dual wielding. accuracy is drastically reduced AND your off-hand weapon has it's weapon damage effectiveness reduced by half.

Aion: ???

almost forgot...

FFXI: the delays of each weapon was combined to become 1 common delay. the weapons did full weapon damage (i think) using the combined delay. So, the weapons just looked like they had the same delay when they swing, even though one was 150 and another was 200. in the damage log, their damage is displayed at the same time.

Thats one to ask the current assassin beta tester Shilenne. I think as default it should be as the WoW system you mentioned. Perhaps with a passive skill to be Ambidexterous added at higher levels to improve off hand damage/accuracy but thats just my opinion...i think they will have their ideas implimented already.

At the beginning you start with 1 hand only, then at lvl 5? or something you get a passive skill "dualwield".

You equip 2 weapons pretty much. Sword or dagger. So yes you can have sword sword dagger dagger sword dagger whatever suits your playstyle most :P

MH dmg will always be higher than OH dmg (i use to use 2 of the same weapons so I can confirm this yes) Unless say your MH attack didn't crit but your OH did.

As for the passive skills, I can't be too sure of that atm...gotta find sometime to have Irisviel translate the skills for me T_T (Remember I play by trial and error, whatever doesn't kill me makes me stronger!)

As for accuracy reduced? it's not really reduced o_O I've never really "missed" mobs at my lvl, it was more whether if I crit on it or not. White non crit dmgs without skills at low lvl is sooo sad T_T. I remember at lvl 3 my non crits were hitting for 4 and 7...so i stacked crit gems!

Hmm does that mean that the real damage from assassins come from crits? Or is that only something that happens at lower levels. And does the low damage also apply to swords or is it only good for skills?

Because I think I've read something that some would MH sword for skills and OH dagger for crits.

What i always looked for when choosing 2 weapons was 1 with high spike damage on main hand then a high DPS on the off so this makes sense to me.

Well, if the DWing is like it was in WoW, than we are all screwed out of daggers. Because Rogue Combat Sword build >>> All other DPSing for rogue. I HOPE they don't do that here, I want to be able to dual daggers if I want, and be able to do equal damage in the end =/

why would you even say this? just for the sake of saying it?

there are no "talents" in Aion. so far, the combat mechanics is more like Lineage 2 than WoW.

I'd rather have dependable weapons, like 1 sword and 1 dagger, or 2 swords; having to rely on crit makes me wonder....but if its a high crit chance, that's something completely different.

usually .. sins have high crit rate in most of the games ive played with sin class.. but.. dono what 2 tell here for now, if it doesnt have the crit rate i will like .. maybe also I will play a mage or buffer (I will never go tanker)

I always liked dual weapons. Cool that assasins wield dualweps now, even though it was more....."stealthy" with only 1 dagger.
Hope we got high crit rates.
I like the idea of 2 daggers, but it won't be if we can't equal dmg

Wtf? Doesn't mean swords won't out beat DPS on daggers o_0 I just said I hope it's not that way. Ehh, why would you even say that? Just for the sake of saying it?
