Over-populating Assassins?

To my experience it seems like class choices are pretty even, and if anything ranger seems to be more popular.

Decribes how I feel to the T, sure, there might be alot of them, but if your dedicated enough you'll be better than a great majority of assassins, and that in itself makes you unique, besides, more competition = stronger end game assassins, you know the ones that made it to the end must be good at what they do, having had to step over other assassins to get there :P

I agree with both of you. I played a Burglar on LOTRO, and even though I took a 5 month break, and came back, I'm still the top rated best burglar on the server. But it really takes more than just being good... You have to be one of the first ones there. First few with the best gear, first ones at max level... etc. That's how I did it at LOTRO. So, time and skill =) And that is the one thing that makes playing the most spammed class promising, if you're good, you'll still stand our above the rest.

I guess you're right. If you know how to play your class the right way, you'll always be above and stand out from the others. This is a challenge I'll be up for.

I dont see what all the fuss is about if alot of people are going to be assassins, there are going to be three types of assassin

1- Those that simply Fail with a capital F (more than likley never hit max level)
2- Those who get max level but dont really have a clue how to be the best and understand in game mechanics and how they can bennefit them.
3- Those who strive to become the best they can be and dont stop untill they are the best.

This is my opinion anyway, the more good assassins there are the more competition and the greater the challange of becomming a recognised player there will be.

And you really just described what I did on page 1 lol... Those fit into my player types. It's actually encouraging though... Maybe we can weed out the false assassins.

That's true, but you first have to make a name for yourself and prove that you are a good assassin. At the beginning of the game, before anyone even has the chance to make the assumption that the assassin class players are bad, is when the good assassins will be able to make a name for themselves, I think. After everyone has come to the conclusion that the class is bad, it's gonna be terribly hard for people to make a name for themselves when they are rejected from groups because of their class reputation.

Maybe I'm speculating that a little much, but it was just something that popped in my head.

More and more are comming to Aion Source, and they seem to be proving you guys right. You still hear alot of people saying they want to be a support class, but I'm sure not everyone feels that way.

Plus, from the start, Assassins will have a bad name, unless they level slower than the other classes (excluding chanter and cleric).
People will call them easy mode, or cheap, etc. I can just see it now. But it's up to us to prove them wrong

All good points. Especially Ayron's comment. But yes, the good assassins will be known, and they'll be the ones getting all the invites to the end game stuff Just gonna have to make a large list of assassins as I see them to weed out the bad ones ^_^
