Why are you playing Assassin?

Why are you playing Assassin? What sets this class aside from the others?
Personally I love all types of really fast light armor using dual wielders. Big damage, dish it out fast, although out defense is not the best we can get in, get the job done, and get out quickly. From the info I have read, and the videos ive seen, Assassin seems like a really promising, and enjoyable class to play.
So why are you guys going the way of the sin?

Pretty much the same reasons, I also played a dagger in Lineage 2 as well and loved it...Although the game had it's weakness. With this combo system it truly makes the game interesting. As well as the fact that you can stealth for long periods and have a long dash type skill...I prefer to lurk in the darkness and attack strategically =P...So I'm REALLY looking forward to play this class ^_^.

I'm looking to play it as an alt because I've always loved having the element of surprise. A Sorcerer just finishes off 3 enemies, is out of mana, then you pop in, the first thing that comes to mind is usually, "Oh shyt."

^_^ I've always loved the assassin class in every game I've been in. I think really, to be honest... over everything else, is just because they are always so damn cool looking.

I played in many games caster/ranged classes. So I decided to change that pattern for Aion. And of all melee classes, the Assassin is the most suitable class for my style.

I always played assasin class, in l2, wow...they really look good and I like the play style, get in the shadow, wait 4 the best moment to strike, get behind the target and end his missery "life" with 1-2 mighty blow(s).

Im always a sin, rogue class for the fast atk, dual wield and the sneak-up-and-kill approch xD

I think I've posted this somewhere before, but I chose to play an Assassin because I'm a big fan of close combat classes. With that, it was between an Assassin and Gladiator.However, Gladiator is just too straight-forward for me to consider, so I went with Assassin.

Besides, I'm one to appreciate the design of a weapon and what better way to do that than to slice up an enemy with it?

Nice choice of words. I wanna roll Assassin for that reason, in addition to my overall Lone Wolf mentality. I does my dirt on tha humble. Plus, with all of the Asmos plotting to slay, fricassee, and make life very unpleasant for my peoples, the desire to catch one slippin ' is overwhelming!

Not to mention that Babes (of both factions) are attracted to the Quiet but Deadly type (or so I've been told anyway).

Yea, that's the only thing that bugs me. Hopefully that wont be the case with Elyos (though it probably will).

Right on man!...The possibilities are endless honestly with the Assassin class.

What I want to know is if you can cloak before going through a portal, and come out cloaked the other side. I just love the stealth aspect of this game...If you can do this, imagine activating stealth and passing through into their territory, even if they have some members of the opposite faction camping the portal, you can slip through and into their realm. Find parties of the opposite faction, stealth in, take out their mage/healer quickly, slap on dash, and escape for cooldowns and to work on your next victim....Keep running and cloak again...The key is watching your CD to maximize effectiveness...Same goes with PVP style as well..There are so many different ways of using assassins effectively and that is VERY pleasing....

ESPECIALLY with the stigma system...If it works how I think it works..I already have a few strategies against mages and other melee classes...=D..Man I can't wait for this game..

But honestly..I just want strategy, to use a class more effectively than others to set myself apart. We've all played button mashing skill cooldown based games, L2 was like this...I despised getting shot down by a mage so easily from distance considering how low dagger's Mdef was, but with long duration cloaking, dash speed skills, let alone a skill that dashes a good distance into an attack, the ability to dual wield, stigma's to wear weapons/armor of other classes (and hopefully skills later on)..the possibilities are endless..

What I'm really looking forward to is traps!...I noticed in other assassin related threads I read they have a couple of traps?..A knock down and silence signets (Great for mages)?...I wonder if you can place them while cloaked...such as noticing a mage by himself/herself in the opposing factions realm, or in a party, cloaking and getting a good 5-10 feet outside from him/her, set the trap, come around the other side and start using your skills to make him retaliate...main mentality when being attacked?..Back up and analyze the situation...BAM..silence...Take'em out.

There are so many ways of using this class effectively as stated before...THIS is what truly draws me to Assassins..Not your typical dagger DPS...but lots of variety, and with the Stigma system and a bit of creativity...You'll be able to really make wonders happen ^_^.

The only downside as stated will be over population..But with a class as versatile as an assassin...You really need to know how to play them..So even with a huge population..2-3 shat assassins still have a possibility of dying to one good one in a 3v1 scenario if used well...I can't wait =D

I pretty much have to agree with you word for word. Its one of the main reasons i'm so set on being an assassin.
