Wait we to have all the list of stigmas and then start your ideas, I'm thinking you're dreaming too much Azel... Start with, only 4 stigmas slots and there are specific class stigmas you should use, which left you with 3 slots.

The only thing i could come up with, for the whole assassin using a polearm or whichever heavyweapon thing, NCsoft is a HUGE fan of ninjascroll lol

Hello
I stumbled on this game and it seemed to be exactly what i was looking for.


Now as far as the "omg a pole assassin"

well a polearm wasn't my first idea, it was .2 seconds after "sweet giant two hander" that popped into my head.
Take in mind my favorite characters all have a very similar theme, big weapons, no armor.

characters from Ninja Scroll, Naruto, hack//sign, DBZ, ... well pretty much most anything ive watched or read over the years has at least as a minor character a heavy weapons/dodge/parry based character.

do i think balance needs to be made, YES

do i think daggers has to be better than polearms, 2h swords, whatever.... NO

making a clear winner in any situation is stupid, that means everyone will be a dagger sin, or a pole sin, or a mace sin. They ALL need to bring something equally feared to the table. That way player choice, not game mechanics, is the end result of why you are how you are.

If a templar wants to learn some heals and be a tankadin, great, thats his choice, it should be just as valid as a templar who is a traditionalist about his stigma choices.


Think outside the box, dont cry about beta footage.


as to the "well fi you want a 2hander just be a galdiator" well you know what... "if you want to be a damage dealer dont be a gladiator since you are in plate, that means you should tank"........ sounds pretty childish and onesided doesn't it? if someone wants to be able to take a punch or two and dish out some damage, great be a gladiator, be a dual wield sword and dagger gladiator, could look pretty cool.

Just because you dont like an option that doesn't fit YOUR view of what a class should be doesnt mean you should crap on someone elses fun.

balanced and fair = yes

You pretty much nailed it. Feel the exact same way.

The option to be a 2h assassin would be a very good idea. If the class had the option to be a 2h it would not change the gameplay for those who prefer not to.

My favourite characters are also always the evasive characters who wield bigger weapons. Those who move fast. evade or parry blows, blocking projectiles using their bigger weapons...well i think people get the picture. These fighters would be a new thing in MMOs and would make a great addition. The fact that these type of fighters cannot take a lot of beating like the heavier types like gladiator would make it perfectly fair. Dual wielders / daggers would be faster and have the same utility so basically i don't see the big problem.

To be honest the real assassins which this whole concept is based upon is more likely to use one blade with both hands rather than dual wielding two swords.

The point is not to make a superman type of character, but the idea is great. The gladiator and a 2h assassin would not even resemble one another in terms of gameplay even though they both use 2h weapons.

Me want big weapons
And btw hi people im new here I registered just to reply here since i really have strong opinions regarding this matter

hope they reverse it after balancing it


seeing every glad with a polearm, every sin with daggers, every templar with 1hsword of pure tankage..... its boring

i want to have a HARD time guessing what class im fighting.... am i fighting a chanter in plate, or a templar who found a cool caster stigma.

companies should work on balancing many options, not restricting creativity

I think that common game stereotypes give everyone the image of assassin = Daggers, or Dual daggers. The fact still stands however that an assassin is simply a person who is profusely skilled in the art of murder, and in such a sense, should be able to use an abundant number of weapons. I'll agree that it may have seemed a little unfair, but instead of totally disabling it I wish that they would make it more balanced instead. Perhaps a way to curb your character towards a more preferable weapon type for your play style? Just my thoughts..

last thing i remember the officials saying about pole Sins is that "you won't see them for awhile..."
