The Effects of Stigma

Well any assassin that cares about this game has been watching CBT3 for any new info. A video has appeared in the CBT3 video threads that show an assassin fighting with a Polearm. If you search further on youtube you;ll find a video of an assassin using the Polearm in combat with devastating results. Afaik the polearms is designed to deal larger amounts o physical damage than daggers so whats the point of choosing daggers when you could go with the stronger weapon. That kinda ruins the assassin image don't you think. I like the idea of stigma for customizing your characters but this will probably turn into a bunch of pole or 2H sword wielding assassins, wheres the classic image of the dagger wielding terrors...

well i think to balance it, they should make skills that can be used only with dagger, and some skills that can be used with any weapon

agree with that.. daggers r easy to use, due to the size and weight .. and handle a big sword or stuff in the way u handle daggers... it just not right

gyes i think that u are right.look assasin is a class that uses small weapons like daggers and short swords in ordere to be sneaky and quick at his attacks.i am not a fn of using a big weapon in this class but maybe is just something like Lineage 2 where u could hold different weapons if u where in that levels but u couldnt have the same resoults as with ur main.

But this will always be a problem. Once the gaming community has cottoned on to what the most efficcient PvE/PvP build is for their class, they will shape their characters around it anyway (unless they like to fail at the game )...

Pretty much. Sooner or later we will see things like this poping up everywhere. Seems like that guy had a good idea though, cause he/she is owning.

Assassin Polearm Vs Assassin Duel wield

This is the PvP video i was talking about that features 2 scouts, most likely assassins based on their fighting styles fighting. One if using Polearm and one is duel wielding, the polearm is the clear winner though this could be based on skill, lvl and several variables we don't yet know. I like the idea of stigma to customize and enhance but that polearm just seems way too powerful and the assassin uses it very well.

I'm really split on this. It sucks that there aren't any balancing effects of using a polearm, but then again it shows the usefulness of stigma.

ehh. i just hope most of the skills will be unusable with the Polearm.

But i mean Stigma makes for an interesting way of using skills. Maybe it will be a bit different in teh actual live version.

Well he looks to be using the bulk of his skills with it and doing massive damage to boot....I guess it just kinda kills the whole view on what I wanted my Assassin to be.

I just don't wanna see hundreds of assassins running around with polearms I guess.

If we knew weapon stats or something this might be more bearable. If the polearms deals out damage like that maybe it should lack in defense and dodge capabilities while daggers offer much higher evasion. I'd love to see assassins choosing polearm and daggers for different effects and tactics but if the only difference is damage the polearms is the clear winner.

It's weird. Assassins should hit really really slow with a pole, but he hits faster than a gladiator. Maybe they have a passive or buff to increase attack speed.

Anyway, totally absurd, there should be some negative effects on using it. Everyone will start using them, chanters, clerics, templars..

I had planned to do that from i first read abt stigmas lol. Just didn't think the increase in damage would be so ridiculous. Im sure that if a gladiator and assassin were to stand face to face with the same pole-arm just dpsing each other im sure the assassin would win.

That's how it feels to me. and having the polearm being the weapon with the highest damage in the game, Glad's can't exactly learn a better weapon to make up for it. Other classes not so much.
