Assassin PvP

Well let me start by saying that im lvl 27. I played wow in the 2200 brackets and i was a semi pro at halo 2 and gears of war. Im not bragging im just saying im not new to pvp or competitive gaming. I have viewed all tips for assassins in pvp and they are all pretty good (for the most part.) I have no problem with our damage, its fine. I have a problem with the garbage hit detection of this game. I can be all over a guys a-s-s and still be out of range. It really nyerkes me off to get kited by some noob ranger or sorc when they dont even slow me correctly or for very long(potion). I have a problem with the skill i have not even being a factor in deciding who wins. I dont even wanna get started on flight pvp vs a ranged class cause that is just pure bulls-h-i-t. I guess im QQing but when i spend 70 bucks and 15 dollars a month on a game i expect the very core mechanics to be good, or atleast acceptable. If they dont correct this effed up game mechanic within a month im quitting because playing a completely broken game is not worth my time or money.

wow excellent response, anyone over the age of 5 have an opinion on the melee-pvp frustration?

I have the exact same issues on my Gladiator. Sometimes it feels like I need some else to basically hold my target in place just so I can land a chain. If my target is moving, it doesn't matter whether I am right on top of my opponent or not: most of my attacks won't land.

hmm thanks for the reply, has anyone heard any reliable news that they are fixing this so melee isnt really pointless to play in pvp without extendable weapons?

Ankle Snare (10 sec immobilize, 2min cd) and Lockdown (3 sec immobilize, 12 sec cd) would obviously help me (since I am a Gladiator) but I would agree that being pigeonholed into getting 2 stigmas just to be able to land attacks on moving opponents seems a bit silly.

Agree. I was hoping Aion would be fast response and different from all the melé out of range crap and latency issues I faced in WAR but no no. Think Im about to give up anything in online gaming melé that depends on ping zero to work.

Btw the zerg situations is also just the same crap, big lag fest with range vs range and impossible to do any melé things with everybody moving out of range during the latency and flying around in high speed.

Right at the end of WAR, like the month or two month before aion came out, they fixed melee range. You would hardly ever get oor (to get out of range you would have to have extreme lag). It was less fun to play range, esp if you were kiting type, but it was awesome to play a witch elf. But tbh I think there's no point playing melee if you want to play in zergs/massive fights (who likes that anyway?).

I've leveled Assassin up to level 30 so far, and as of yesterday, i've rerolled Ranger (Currently at 14.. I originally was rolling this guy as an alt.. but he's now my main until the glitchy melee hit box detection is properly fixed). I couldn't stand PvP with this melee hit box glitch.. and I already planned to roll a Ranger alt, so he was already level 10 in preparation. Assassin is fun, and I love it, but I just can't stand melee atm, it's way too hard, and if you're not right next to the server.. even a slightly bad ping (200+) is troublesome.

Assassin is my favorite class, and it nyerking rocks! but I just can't handle dying because of faulty client/server code.

was planning on getting the abyss speed boots today, after having several fights, in the air, against ranged classes i rerolled. Melee mechanics in this game are nyerking retarded. Don't get me wrong i love my assassin, specially when im rifting on it, pretty useless in the abyss, ill continue playing it when they fix this crap. Until then, ill be playing either a sorc or SM, havent decided my mage is only lvl 8 ^_^

Yea I was there so it became little better but the latency still there so I could see I was melé hitting someone that was miles away so there was no control over when or what I hit and the cd cooldowns got stuck after button smashing and such. Aion lot faster than this when not 100 people on the screen so I will play assassin because I love the class but I get so confused when getting nuked down 9 times out of 10 tries if I try to challenge a range class. However it's often possible to escape by flying away with speed pots. It get confused about the the amount of effort I wanna lay down to evolve the character so it's risky that it will be another alt story by playing every damn class without focus lol.
