One of my prefered skill, for many reasons, both in pvp and pve, stun failure are pretty low.
I found a way to avoid the vector bug (when the server turn the mob in any kind of direction when using it), just throw in an arrow, buff and ambush, you'll be on the back of the mob all the time.

in my PvP sessions ive noticed that if you get the jump, the first thing the opponent does is either fly or die, so stunning them on the first move while you carve and work on your stun locks and poison to crit has worked out alot better for me than saving it for IF they try to "run" away

poison can be potted, and it usually wont crit on the first few rune carves, also not using ambush they are able to fly away before you even attack them (need to buffup before attack)

overall from what ive tested, jumps go alot more successfully when ambush is used first for my play style

It's also very useful for interrupting spells, heals especially, if you don't use it right away to start the fight. Plus it's just awesome being able to teleport, one of my favorite abilities.

This too, but if you aren't rolling around with a healer its still a good way to disorient people if you use it after they have a target on you.

I disagree with this, if your getting the jump on someone, they should be dead pretty quick, if they dont die, MOST of the time its because they flew off and you lost them.

By ambushing, you put in the initial stun to give time for your poison to proc. Its not wasted by doing this at all. Matter of personal preference IMO

Legit points i guess.

But if the opponent does not fly away you wasted your ambush ^^, guess it depends on the situation ( duh ) like always.
