You should be able to run it in max settings with no problems tbh

The cpu is WAAAAAAAY overkill for Aion, the Ram is adequate with plenty to spare, and the graphics card shouldn't have any problems for a year or 2.. And if it does you just buy another 8800GTS and SLi them.

Nice setup :]

Er... what is the part number on that CPU? Is it an X6800 or a QX6800 because it makes a difference. You've listed it as a Core 2 Quad Extreme X6800. The Core 2 Extreme X6800 is a dual-core part. The Core 2 Extreme QX6800 is a quad-core part. And, as far as I am concerned, nobody should buy either of those parts since the QX6850 is faster and cheaper than the QX6800 by $130 (and is more expensive than the dual-core X6800 by only $40).

The QX6800 is 2.93GHz, has a 1066MHz bus, and costs ~$1090 (and good luck getting it anywhere as I think it's mostly discontinued).

The QX6850 is 3.0GHz, has a 1333MHz bus, and costs $929.

What Skimike said.

Though I must say that your processor is pretty much overkill compared to the rest of the system.

I also think you have a really low amount of hd space there (unless you have hd's that you're going to use already).
Also I'd go with an Ultra card, and then after a year or 2 just add another one for a lower price for example.

Why get a zalman 7000.. and not a 9700?

Well, I would be interested in seeing the case that's going in. Seems a little strange to be using a Micro ATX board with all that gear (it's not small stuff).

Ok, ok I copy and pasted this configuration from Falcon-nw's site, so whatever seems wierd you can take that to them.lol

But I might not buy it from them or at least ill buy the case from them, I might just go and get this stuff myself when I get a job again.lol

Any more advice? You guys are doing great, I really appreciate it, man I didn't know there were that many on here smart on computers, think i'll come here from now if I have any problems

i thought the specs for this game would be reasonable high due to the use of the cryteck engine. If you can afford a high end system go for it, not only will be future proof but it will take full advantage of other high end games you may be interested in playing for a later.

The specs for the Crytek engine were high... four years ago.

Indeed, this game will proberly run fine on a medium machine.
I really, really doubt you will get much use out of a SLI setup, or some of the other uber setups I have seen here.
Now if you plan to play some other games like crysis, it would still be a good investment though.

just out of interest... why do you want RAID 1 config?

For a 2 drive config, RAID 1 for gaming should be very close to the performance of RAID 0. A good RAID 1 implementation has slower writes than RAID 0 but will beat a single drive in reads and, in the best case scenario, can match RAID 0 for random reads. Most good RAID 1 implementations either read from both sides of a mirror and accept the response from whichever side responds first or will round-robin reads between the mirrored pair, resulting in near RAID 0 performance while also affording the user data protection from a drive failure. Whether or not a particular desktop chipset and corresponding driver implement this behavior can usually only be identified through careful benchmarking, however.

I think the Raptors are pretty significantly over-priced in today's market and would probably invest in a few of the larger 500GB+ drives for reduced cost. Stick 4 of them in RAID 10 or 3 (or 4) of them in RAID 5 and be happy. The only thing the Raptors still have an advantage in versus other mechanical hard drives is seek time and rotational latency.

Thats why I asked why he's going Raid 1 and not Raid 0 with that 2 drive config, he's losing out on 250gb storage just "incase" of a drive failure - which doesn't happen often.. The only time Raid 1 should really be used is if you use your pc for work so you have constant backups. I was just making sure he knew what Raid 1 was..
