if i post my specs, can some one tell me if im able to run aion smooth?

i made my pc to play lineage2 on, that was the main goal, but that was almost 2.5 years ago if not more..

amd athlon 64 3000+
2x 160 maxtor 6l160mo
geforce 6600 GT ( lol aincient )
2 gig of ram, (pc3200 cl3 dunno what that means )
asus a8n sli motherboard

is getting a gforce 8800 enough to make it worth playing aion,?

or should i wait and build a complete new system considering this one is old.

go for the dualcore's, 4 gig ram, beter motherboard, and a new vid card?
preciate your input cause i aint that tech.

btw putting in this video card wil that make every thing run noticeble smoother?

you deffinetly will need dual core if you aim to play smoothly, and yeah, a 8800 GT would play the game

Yeah, I think you'll want to start saving up if necessary, and put together a new computer in a few months or so. When you do, feel free to make your own thread in here, and we'll help you out as much as we can .

better wait and build new rig

also cause only with the new gfx you will not notice any great improvement beside the better graphic ... smalls suggestion if you do plan to make a new rig also think to a new psu this darn new config are power eater, and if you plan to use a 8800 GT or GTX maybe usefull to use also water cooling

I wouldn't go with a go with a GTX especialy the 8800gtx card becouse the difference if minimal only real differnce is the 3 way sli support even with the 9800GTX, 8800GT is today the best buy unless you are a hardware entusiast.

amd athlon 64 3000+

the "pc3200" tag is the speed of the memory which by the looks of it is on 400Mhz slowest they sell today is 533(pc4200)

this computer is also likely to run Aion on realy low settings but it's not enouth to bother updating.

also without a muli videocard setup a good 400W PSU is enouth to power a new system.

E8400 is indeed epic.

Have one that was just place holding until the non extreme wolfdale quads came out and still haven't needed to replace. Same cache to core ratio and with a 33% OC on air its blazing.

From ur spec's buster and looking at the aion korean web site for min-recomended set up, you fall in the recomended catagory. But we all know how they underestamate spec's for there games.

It would probably run fine on lower settings, but yeah if you want to run higher resolutions an upgrade is necessary.

650W is enouth for multi videocard and 6 hard drives(plus what u want to buy),

the mobo i recomend are

nforce 780i ( 3way sli support, reported to be abit unstable, more expensive then x38)
intel x38 (realy nice but only support CrossFire)
intel P35 (the older version of x38 and a nice budget mobo, Crossfire)

also go with the 512mb 8800GT well over enouth.
also ddr3 sucks in price vs preformance stay with ddr2, if you want to kill your bank account buy a other videocard instead

More 1gb of ram, and a better graphics cards. Overall investment of 150$ dollars and you will play aion in almost max quality .

The turion is good enough to run aion, having 1mb of l2 cache and all. its a dual core with 2ghz which is more than enough. 3gb ram is more than enough also.

As for the graphics card, if im not mistaken that's a Onboard Gpu of the Nvidia Series, which is not very good for games, it's made for more friendly user, however as it is a recent chip, i reckon you will be able to play AION in medium settings (if you had a better graphics cards would be max).

Someone correct me about the graphics card if im wrong !
