Wich video card should i buy...

Nvidia geforce 8800 GT or GTS or GTX, they are the most common GFX cards availabe.

You can check the graphic cards perfomace and compare them to price they have.

ATI Radeon GFX cards

if you are asking for ATI graphic cards i do not recommend the current generation.

Some games benchmarks (Crysis fps test included, you can compare it to Geforce fps test)

Diamond Viper ATI Radeon HD 3870 512MB Video Card | video card, radeon hd 3870,hd3870,viper 3870,3870PE4512,graphics card, display adapter,Diamond Viper ATI Radeon HD 3870 512MB Video Card 3870PE4512 Graphics Performance Test Review | Benchmark Reviews

If u compare the fps with the geforce one its really bad, i really don't recommend it.

My Conclusion:

I recommend Geforce 8800GT, it has the perfomance + Price from the benchmarks review we have.

I hope you can find this thread helpful

Edit: You can check other video cards like 9 series but they are extremely expensive and not that good perfomace if u compare to price.

dam computers it allways the same, you bye something new and a month later there is better owe well. Yes the 9 series is out and about and ye they will play better than the 8's, well i hope they do. But my point is, i b ought a sweet rig running with high end stuff on a 8800 gtx 756mb. and that is going to play aion on max, so i am not worried about forking out another 400 to upgrade my gfx card witch 2 mnths ago was the shiz nez! ya shizzle my nizzle ?

i would go for 8800Gts for sure, 9800gtx aint worth the extra cash for the small boost it gives, a few fps more.. yay?

Well if you have a decent machine and a fair amount of ram, all of the above video cards will play aion just fine if you ask me.

How come no-one recommends or even mentions Radeon3870x2 when talking about specs? In test I saw, it seems to be more efficient then GF8800Ultra (or lets even say they are equal) and costs about 40% less, yet everyone is talking about GF :[
Give ATI some love

lol, they'll all max Aion with no problems. ATi's and nVidia alike.

While I agree the 8800GT has the best single card bang for buck.. I would still recommend the GTS, it overclcoks like a beast - as shown in the Howlrig thread where I've OCed components to varying degrees and posted 3dmark06 scores.

The current 9 series is heavily influenced by the GTS architechture aswel, the 9800GTX shares practially all the same specs as the 8800GTS - though I can't help but feel nVidia are holding the GTS back via the drivers to make the 9800GTX seem "better".

Also, to save Kalean posting this... While ATi don't offer the same performance as nVidia cards, they do over better visual quality than nVidia, crossfire also scales better than SLi - and you can crossfire on Intel boards, whereas you need an nVidia board to use SLi.. Intel boards being far superior to nVidia boards -- makes ATi and crossfire a very viable option.

Same reason people don't mention the 9800GX2... because it's just 2 cards running crossfire on 1 board. It's not a single GPU solution - and a thread like this seems to be catering the single solutions only.

Because the card performance varies to much, it can excel in one game and fail to deliver in another.

It makes allot of noise too, I had it for about 2 weeks then sold it.
I bought a 8800gtx, in theory a lesser card but it has a solid overall performance.
It pretty much preforms good in any game, which i cant say about the 3870x2.

Thanks for saving me the trouble Howling =P.

BTW Guys, try not too go too crazy with graphics cards atm, The next architectures will be here Q3/Q4....and they've been LONG overdue (especially on Nvidia's side). Worst thing to do is dump 600 bucks on a 9800 GX2 only to see the next architecture blow it away to nothingness.
