This MIGHT be my final question...Kinda doubt it though.
When it says "Core Clock:", or something to that effect, the higher the GHz the better right?

Keep in mind though its still more important what generation of gpu/cpu it is, as some new tech might be faster than old tech with higher GHz, like P4 vs AMD.Last edited by Harrison; 04-17-2008 at 07:49 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |

Ok...
So... This is what I came up with. No, this is not just flailing around, I TRIED to go by your guys' advice but, again, I is stoopid. Newegg.com - ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro 92mm CPU Cooler - CPU Fans & Heatsinks Newegg.com - AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ Brisbane 2.6GHz 2 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM2 65W Dual-Core Black Edition Processor - CPUs / Processors Newegg.com - ECS N9600GT-512MX-P GeForce 9600GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics And that, my friends, is all I can afford...And, to the best of my knowledge, for the best bang for me bucks.

Very good parts Juris, just change cooler (Freezer 7 Pro is for Intel cpu's) Newegg.com - ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 64 Pro 92mm CPU Cooler - CPU Fans & Heatsinks
You plan to OC? If so, Black edition is good for it, if no - Newegg.com - AMD Athlon 64 X2 5400+ 2.8GHz 2 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM2 65W Dual-Core Processor - CPUs / Processors, plus you save on cooler, so for the same total price you could get 8800GT. Yours 9600GT is silent though, so it might be better choice ![]() |

With having to run 32 bit emulators and the fact that 64bit is twice as big as 32bit 2 gigs under 32 is about the same as 4 under 64. 64 bit aps moving forward will not need the emulations to work and there will be a benefit we're just not there yet. Soon though.

Overclock...Basically meaning pushing your hardware harder then it is designed for. If you do plan to OC, it's a big factor in choosing parts, considering intel's oc potential is literally off the roof. But if you don't OC...Then budget based solutions from AMD are more tasty. But since you don't know what OC means...Chances are you'll want the budget tasty amd solutions =P...lol.
In regards to the 8800 GT being better then the 9600...Vastly. It has nearly double the SP (Shader processors), along with some other tasty specs. The 9600 GT is a fantastic budget card, but if you can stretch it juts a tad bit to pick up a 8800GT...It's recommended.

Build this and be happy for under $2500 bucks.

Calculate Shipping Zip Code: GO Shipping: $0.00<-------- "Free SHIPPING!!!!" Grand Total:* $2,438.85 Now, this is some pretty top of the line stuff, and it gives you enough to play all the games that will be coming out in the next 2 years. $2500 every 2 years on a computer isnt that bad and usually you can re-use alot of the parts. But if I was going to build a new machine right now, I would not settle for anything less then this. The Hard Drive has 16mb cach and 15000 rpm, the CPu is a really good Over clocker easly get 3.2ghz with that cooling unit. The GPU is the second cheapest gtx 280, and I threw in 4g of ram that is very compatable with the system. Not to mention the top of the line nvidia board on the market that you will be able to upgrade on for a long time...the info has to move and you need a good board to move the info. The power supply is more then enough that you could throw a second GPU on there without a problem, considerintg the GTX 280 requires a 550watt power supply. There is $2500 well spent all warrantied and everything, If you need more then a 74g hard drive there is something wrong with you. ~ phadyd

You have corrected nothing, there is nothing wrong.
Seriously? Why dont you like me? You replied to 3 of my posts saying they were bad yet you gave no reason to support your claim, sorry man, leave it alone or tell us why, these parts all work together and are from reputable vendors.~phadyd
