You should be able to run Aion, but the processor will actually be your weakest part there, and you'll have to use low settings.

Personally I'm curious which graphic card is superior to 7900 GTX these days and that would be the most worthwhile to buy. Many say 8800GTS, but isn't the 9600 and 9800 models even better? I want a card that can last me awhile and run any new and current game at max settings.
Obviously Aion at max settings will not run with high fps using a 7900 GTX 512mb card. So I need suggestions for a few one.

Zyuu, The 8800 GTS 512mb version is pretty much the best bang per buck. The 8800 GT is also a SOLID performer. As well as the 9800 GTX. Don't be fooled by the number schemes...The 9800 GTX uses the same GPU as the 8800 GTS 512mb, with just higher clocks and I believe a modified driver. There is no way the 9800 GTX would perform this much better if they didn't modify the drivers to limit the 8800 GTS 512 imo.
But yea, if you go with a 8800 GT, 8800 GTS 512mb, or a 9800 GTX. Any will do...Keep in mind a new high end is going to be out around july which is a brand new architecture (GT200), the performance is suppose to be massive, considering it's said to dethrone the 9800GX2 which is a dual gpu solution. It'll sport anywhere between 190-240 shader processors, that's almost or more then double of the 8800 GTX/9800 GTX/8800 GTS 512.....Although it'll end up costing twice the price of the 9800 GTX, which is at 299.99... In terms of which card you want to buy, I'd recommend the 8800 GTS 512mb so you have a dual slot cooling design, the single slot 8800 GT can get pretty hot, and no point buying a dual slot version since price wise the 8800 GTS 512 is around the same price. You'll be good to go ^_^.

I'm really happy that I have a 8800 GTS, too bad it's not 512.. it's 320mb. Anyone got a slight estimate of the performance difference between those?

But anyway, as Kal said - the best cards to buy at the moment are the 8800GTS, 9800GTX (8800GTS with better drivers tbh) and if you're a little shorter on cash the 9600GT is a nice little performer.. I wouldn't recommend the 9800GX2 nor the 8800GT to be perfectly honest, for a little more money you can grab the 8800GTS, and for a little less you can nab the 9600GT - the 8800GT is in the middle both price and performance wise, but the price difference is only about $30-50 I think.

Alfarus: Your card is definitely capable, you do need a new cpu though...But is your rig AGP Based?..or?...Cause I have a feeling it is, and if that's the case..It might turn out to be difficult to upgrade your CPU if it's on a much older chipset. Do you happen to know your motherboard manufacturer and model? I can check up your CPU support to see if you can just drop in a core 2 cpu....But keep in mind there is a possibility that you will have to get a new motherboard in order to get a new cpu...and at that point you might have to pick up new ram if yours is dated....But first toss by your mobo info =P..
The 320mb and 640mb GTS are indeed older cards, and not good performers when compared to the G92's (8800 GT, GTS 512, 9800 GTX). The difference in price between the 9600GT and 8800GT is rather small, around 30 dollars...If you can stretch your budget,...It's worth getting. BTW Howling, The 9800 GTX benchmarks I saw way back during the first preview showed a pretty large gap, but I just decided now to double check and visited numerous different benchmarks, it's actual in line with a small performance gap.....The benchmarks I saw before were either inaccurate, or faulty...But all the ones I've been looking up now are actual in line....So yea, no driver restraints or anything...Just Nvidia being greedy again...And to think Nvidia is planning to launch a 9900GX2 in july as well >_<....Greedy bastards...I kept telling everyone not to buy the 9800 GX2 =P...that it'd be king of the hill for only 3-5 months...I was right =P.. BTW...For those that I always SWEAR AWAY nvidia chipsets...Here's more to second guess picking one up... X-bit labs - Nvidia’s Latest Core-Logic Causes Data Corruption During Overclocking – Company. Nvidia = BAD CHIPSETS!...Do not pick them up. If you want SLI, just save up and get a 9800GX2 or a 9900GX2 when it's released for intel based chipsets. Keep in mind this problem referred to in this article has been here since the 650/680 days, How?..650/680 is 750/780/790...They just updated the memory/cpu support with a br-04 bridge chip to allow tri-sli...Consumers have been complaining for years regarding the 650/680....But Nvidia as always just ignores their customers, same as they do with their shotty driver support/development. DO NOT PICK UP THESE BOARDS!...lol. I can't stress that enough.

Download this application, extract it to a folder. Then run the .exe, it'll launch a application that will give you info regarding your ram, mobo, and cpu. Once launched, click the mainboard tab, and tell me what it says for "manufacturer" and "model".
