You reckon this graphics card can cut it?

Hey I've looked around the forums and I haven't seen anything about my graphics card coming up so I decided to come clean and ask.

You reckon my NVIDA GeFORCE 8500GT could handle Aion?
Also if it helps I've got 2GIG DDR ram and 3.06Ghz

Yes it'll be fine. Just don't expect to max anything out. Most likely low settings perhaps.. I'll look a bit more into it.

Edit - Yeah after looking over it seems like a low end budget card. Not very impressive, but most likely able to run Aion on some lower settings/resolution.

It's a bit difficult to suggest things. It can vary from PC to PC.. What resolution does the person plan on playing on? What size monitor? What's the rest of their specs to make sure they don't deal with bottlenecking issues? What's their budget? etc etc etc~

Sorry bud, the 8500 GT is NOT a good gaming card at all...you'll have to play low res low settings and that's a fact =(.

The 8500 GT is identical to a 8400 except for a 128 bit bus interface compared to the 8400's 64...If you want to play Aion with at least some decent and enjoyable settings, you'll have to pick up a new card.

Also, 3.06 ghz means nothing to tell you the truth, it depends on architecture it is on..What type of processors is it?..Model number as well if possible?.

I'm actually ok with playing low res, I mean this is Aion! Low res graphics on Aion will be medium on most other games. I would get a better card but well, I'll have a hard time convincing my parents on why I need it. They're not exactly computer savvy ah well as least I can play Aion full stop I'll be happy

Well it's not just low res, it's going to be low res + low settings...so it won't look very pleasant. Also keep in mind that MMO's are FAR more demanding then normal games considering the amount of textures....=(

Up to you though....But also, what type of processor do you have?..you didn't state. They both tie in together...Keep in mind though that you may meet the spec requirement, and you are on the newer generation of cards, but you are on the lowest of that generation...and the 8400/8500/8600, along with the 2400/2600 were ridiculed for their very mediocre gaming performance at launch...For the price they just didn't stack up in terms of performance at all...But do drop your processor info as well...The resolution you also plan to game in will also help determine how well it'll run.

You can find out what kind of processor you have by going to start then click on run. Then type in dxdiag and look under processor. It should tell you what kind it is.

alright, you're on a 3 ghz hyper threading processors, or pentium D, and with a 8500GT......

For more detailed info...download this..

http://www.cpuid.com/download/cpuz_144.zip

Extract it to a folder, run the .exe, and tell me what it says under the cpu tab and the info if possible. A screenshot would be even better if you know how to.

You have barely hit the recommended requirements, although that doesn't mean it's going to be very pretty...lol. The 8500 GT is very low performance, and the pentium 4 is very dated....You still pass the recommended requirements, but keep in mind your gpu's performance level is that of their recommended requirements, which are very low...Do you have a LCD monitor?..if so what resolution is the native res?...The resolution you are going to play in is a HUGE issue in terms of your system specs.

Indeed..Single core prescott...Definitely not a good cpu in this day and age. Personally, I believe the recommend spec on Aion is WAYYYYY too low...it really does need to be higher considering the difference in performance between prescotts and current tech.....

Combine that processor with a 8500GT...and it's pretty much the lowest settings you'll be able to play unfortunately...
