Chu's PC, all done.
Here's a small picture log of my successful effort reviving Chu's PC.
First time I pushed the power button, it worked! ![]() I didn't have a flopppy drive hooked up, though. One changed setting in the BIOS fixed this error... ![]() And from a different angle... ![]() And from an angle where you can see the monitor of my other other PC (my old one, not the one I'm on right now)... ![]() Installing Windows XP, ghetto style, lolz. ![]() Chu's crap all over my computer room's floor (except for the tools and my computer at the bottom). Normally this space is completely clear, like the rest of my freakishly clean house. ![]() Making a post on the internets with Chu's PC! Oh noez! ![]() Today I took it off my desk and started fixing up the cable job. Feel free to stare in wonder. Please clean up your own drool. ![]() Closer, tilt your head sideways... ![]() And that's it! It's going back in the box with whatever else Chu wants (other than the manuals and wires and stuff, which is obviously going back) as soon as I do my final testing. If anyone was doubting my mad skillz, let them doubt no longer. Need a PC built? Send the parts to Mark. One at a time, please! ![]()

Chu i love your case-i have the same one and there is one word to describe it :
H U G E ! ! ! Btw nice work there Mark. I have a lil question: When u open the side panel and look at the down left bottom of the case there's a tiny black button/switch attached to the case's side. What the hell is that and where it goes?I was always wondering about it... ![]() Btw this is how mine looks like ![]() ![]() The red leds are from a zalman fatality and there's another zalman CNPS 9500 cooling the cpu ![]()

Who said anything about sleeping?
![]() Quote:
Anyhow, here's pictures of all the fans up and running (except for the top one, which Chu or UPS broke off and is now in the bottom drive-bay toolbox, along with the keys to open up the side door). ![]() ![]() I hooked up the top connections too, all except for the 1349e (FireWire) connection (no one uses that, do they?). Here's my USB key in Chu's PC... ![]() And with the door on... ![]() Now Chu, other than the manuals, CDs, floppies and cables, is there anything else you want? Like the box of screws? The powersupply toolbox?

If it's the little orange fan, more than likely UPS broke it. I had it attached at the top of the computer and apparently they jostled it so much that it fell off, I guess. No big deal. I have a crapload of fans anyway.
Um..yeah, the screws I could definitely use. To be honest, I don't think I need the toolbox, so don't send it back unless you can stuff it in the same box with the computer or something. Random: That little hatch you had your USB key in was what my cousin confused with a gas tank. Her: Oooh a button! It's so big...it's the power button! Me: I don't think so...*starts opening hatch* Her: It's a GAS TANK! Last edited by Chu; 01-29-2007 at 09:35 PM.. |

Okay, I'll put all the screws in their little box and tape it up. The rest of the stuff (manuals, cables) is going in the anti-static bag and is being taped inside the empty drive bays. I think I'm going to ship the computer horizontally, with the glass side up, unless there's some really good reason to ship it vertically...

I do. My father works for AT&T (formerly BellSouth) and is going to get me a bunch of (probably pink) bubble wrap to wrap our baby in.
