External HD not being read.
Hello, I got a Zdata 250gb External HD, but my computer wont recognize it. It's not faulty, I tried it on my older computer, it works fine...my current computer has USB 2.0. When I plug it in and turn it on, Windows detects no new hardware, it does not show up in Device Manager, and in Disk Manager it does not show up as an unassigned drive, or a duplicate letter of another drive. Also maybe related or not, in Device Manager, NVIDIA Network Bus Enumerator shows up with a yellow "Caution" logo (should I fix this even if its not related?). Also I dont think power is an issue...I have a 600W PSU, and I also tried unplugging my D drive and restarting the comp with the external, it still wouldnt read.
System is: AMD Athlon X2 4000+ MSI MS7123 mobo 2GB DDR ram Geforce 7600GT Last edited by Calindor; 04-30-2008 at 12:55 AM.. |

All ports work with flash drives, usb mouse/keyboard, usb microphone. I have 6 ports, 2 on the front are usb 1.0, in the back the upper 2 are 1.0, the 2 on the bottom are 2.0, my mouse only works with 2.0 and its working.
