We'll see Howl.
It does seems like AMD/ATI is catching up but I don't think it will be this up coming gen that will have them on par or surpassing. Nvidia isn't Intel delaying products. Budget wise the new ATIs will be killer cards, if Nvidia doesn't get aggressive with its pricing.

ATM, word is a 50% increase in performance for r700, but I hope it's bigger. I'd REALLY LOVE to see ATI take back the crown...But with the amount of time Nvidia has had to cherry pick at their architecture, iono if it will be possible for this upcoming generation...Maybe the next.
But heck, if they do succeed more power to them. but with the rumors of the current price ranges for their 48x0 series...If they are accurate, they wouldn't price a huge performer that low =(.

Processor: Intel Q9450.
Graphics: 9800GTX x2. RAM: 4gb's of DDR3. Mobo: Evga 790i. Case: Cooler master stacker 832. Monitor: Samsung 223BW. Power Supply: Silverstone 1000W. Don't get 8gb's, such a waste of money it doesn't do ANYTHING for you. WINDOWS VISTA 64-BIT! All of these are found at Newegg.com - Computer Parts, PC Components, Laptop Computers, Digital Cameras and more! and with rebates. BUT you'll have to buy the processor at TigerDirect.com - Computers, Computer Parts, Computer Accessories, PC Components, & Electronics |

Casino: My sentiments exactly...I go through all these lengthly posts and explain things in detail, and people just post this stuff again -_-...But I guess that's what I get for making such long recommendation posts, people don't want to read it except for the OP...lol >_<.
Lethal: Such a waste of money man.. Q9450= great processor, but pricey, it'd be best to get a q6600 and just overclock it. 45nm doesn't have much to offer over the 65nm Kentsfields in terms of performance... 9800GTX X2 = Waste of money, GT200 is about to be released in 30-50 days.... Ram= DDR3 is ONLY worth getting for Nehalem's IMC/QPI. the FSB architecture isn't that dandy with DDR3....The onlly modules you can see a big difference in performance is if you spend a LOT of money on ddr3 modules within the 1600-2000 mhz range...and that's too much. Stacker 832 = Good case, a bit brute for on air cooling, but a good one... Samsung 223BW = TN Panel, but to be expected for the price range, low color accuracy...It's best to just go into a retail store and pick out a monitor their after seeing which one suits your tastes/strengths. PSU = Silverstone is a great brand, but 1000W is overkill, and not needed....You can pick up a higher quality PC Power unit for probably a cheaper cost anyways with their current prices.

I'll probably wait til a couple weeks before I buy the parts to bump it. Although, between the time that the gt200 comes out and I buy my PC, there probably won't be very many differences.
