I'm sorry for ressing an old thread, but could anyone give me a definitive list of available parts? Also, would 2x4870 out preform the 4870x2 on a 22'' monitor?

Im sure you can cut through aion on a 22"even with higher AA, using a single 4870

When FPS drops in a MMO, its usually not related to GPU, its more CPU, ram and hard drive.

I just wanted to future proof it. I was wondering which one I should get. >.< One of my friends is majoring in computers, and he's offered to help build it.

He thinks it would be better to get 2x instead of x2 for right now. Anyone disagree?

I would go with the X2 as the procesors in the GPU are somewhat integrated, it will have less microstuttering than a dual card setup...plus in the future you can always add another x2. The fastest available right now is 4870x2 CF, next is either the 4870x2 or 4870 CF..they vary depending on the game.

Or buy all the parts seperately and set fire to the leftover $2000 - be more fun and you still get the exact same performance
