Don't forget the actual use of electricity of the 280, i don't want to mention SLI but if you don't own a powerplant i don't want to know your bill. Especially here in Germany the electricity just got a price increase.

No really my vacuum cleaner also runs in 500 W Eco mode ...

Power is a lot bigger deal than people think on computers...the difference between an E8400 or a Q6600 processor on your power bill can be $30 a month if you idle your computer for atleast 12 hours a day.

The 2000/3000 series ATI cards were not very competiable to the Nvidia cards mostly due to the fact taht AMD bought ATI out and it was a transitional phase for the company. ATI's have always been better cards IMO and the 4000 series has brought back the true power of ATI. Less power, less cost, more bang and better drives..... now if AMD would just make a significatnly better generation of CPUs i will be happy as ever again. Nothing against the Athalons, but they are outdated technology compared to intel.

As soon as GTX 260 goes down in price.....im getting it, im not that hardcore and IMO 816? was it? MB of GDDR3 is enough for me + i dont have PIXE 2.0 port ( i needz new comp )

if that card is around the same prices as the 280 it just wont sell, nice to see it though from a technical standpoint, shame about the microstutter myth being untrue as well

Just as I perdicted the card starts off at about $550.

Look at the benchmarks, its not a super gain over the GTX 280. Like I said before you just dont get penalized at higher resolutions. So unless you have a 24" monitor or larger, dont get this card. No use in paying 100% more vs the HD 4870 when you barely get a 50% performance boost over the HD 4870; you get your boost with the higher resolutions and with more AA.

I'll wait till the real drivers are out as the current ones are still very rough around the edges. Still, it's good to see they made the target price point they declared ~3 months ago. ^^ I'm sure I'll be picking one up soon enough.

Its up to you what you should get. The HD 4870 X2 is $265 more than the HD 4870. Pay what you feel. I just dont see a reason to get a HD 4870 X2 unless your playing at higher resolutions, I would think a HD 4870 should be able to cut through 1680 x 1050 with no problem, even at higher AAs.

Hi Im changing my GPU on september, I was going to buy this 4870x2 2 GB (His or Asus) but I was wondering if it will be full compatible with Aion and wont happen like on those games that only detect a single Core and its like a single 4870, does someone know if Aion working ok with 4870x2?? I really will use this gpu for Aion mainly so I want the best Aion-GPU possible

If u want single core..
then GTX 280,

Im about to order my new card 4870x2 but Im afraid it can suffer some microstuttering and GTX280 gives better performance on this game, so I prefer choosing thebest one on Aion;(

What do u think?
