http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en 2. Update Video card drivers. Both NVIDIA and ATI have recent video drivers out ? you should always try updating to the latest official driver version available for your hardware for best performance. If anything goes wrong, the option to rollback to previous release is always there. ATI Drivers: Download the latest ATI Catalyst drivers from this link: Drivers & Tools | GAME.AMD.COM NVIDIA Drivers: Download latest official NVIDIA drivers from this link: Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers For Beta ATI/NVIDIA drivers for Windows 7, XP and Vista, check out this page: download from Guru3D.com 3. Update sound card and motherboard drivers - Click Here to download 3DP Chip for Windows Vista/XP ? This program will automatically detect your hardware (video card, sound card and motherboard) and find available driver updates. (When you uninstall your GFX driver, reboot in Safe Mode and use Guru3D - Driver Sweeper before installing new driver.) __________________ Brad Better Know

Lots of lag spikes and I tried the different channels approach. This should be a good stress test of server capacity.

I can't even log in to the game =.= Says It can't connect to the authentication server or something like that. I was playing earlier today until I got disconnected. My friend who lives a couple blocks away from me is able to log in fine. I know the EU server is down but I'm in NA so I don't know what's up.

My wife and I had big time lag issues. every couple of minutes the thing would freeze up sort of then about half of my health was gone and numbers just went flying. The same thing with the skills, I would click one and it would take 2-3 seconds to go off or more. We did not get any lag at all from the C-aion servers, nor did we get any lag fromt the last beta.
Changing channels or switching to the other server didn't help either |

Right off the bat I said "ahh video drivers of course" So I go and get the 9.6 ati drivers for 64x vista and install them. I hate to say it but after the driver update Aion would crash while loading up, never made it past the NCsoft logo. So then I go to restore to the old drivers yet the system restore wouldn't restore the point. Tried 4 times without luck. I then see the last part of this post about using Drive sweeper when you uninstall the gfx drivers, I didn't do that when I 1st installed the 9.6 drivers. So I rinse and repeat with the Drive sweeper step and reinstall the drivers clean. Here's where it gets worse; So after that I run Aion and I get a error stating "3d module cannot generate". Now not one of my games will load, not one. Every game gets the same error. System restore still won't follow through. Talk about bummer. So atm I'm DL'ing a Vista 64x home premium torrent and going to reinstall Vista. (Cant find my cd anywhere but have my vista key) I'll update ya how it goes when the torrent is done. It's probably better that I do a clean install, all my important stuff is on a separate hard drive. Again thanks for the response, it's all good. Ill add my DxDiag so you can check the specs on my comp. Time of this report: 7/2/2009, 23:40:21 Machine name: HELLMUTT-PC Operating System: Windows Vista? oh hey, my wife had that same issue. for her's it was an old version of Directx. apparently the update i tried not to long back never took. I reinstalled with the latest and it went through fine. I'm guessing you've already tried this, had to throw it out there though. As for the "warping" i was having a helluva time with this last night. Everytime i tried to get close to an npc it would warp me away or i'd be flying somewhere and had been in the air too long and was trying to get to the ground. Everytime i'd drop about 20 feet just to warp back up another 5-6 lol. I'll try the channels thing. Thanks for the tip! ![]() |

Fixed!
Last night, I had the exact same issue described by Rivved:
"I would run far to one spot, and then the next thing I know, I lag right back to where I started." ...and Dashdeer: "It's like 10 steps forward, 6 steps back. *Repeats every 5 seconds* It's horrible, I have a really decent system, but I can't get past this even with all graphics at bare minimum" As of this afternoon, however, I don't have this problem. I did two things, not sure which one solved the issue, but I'm guessing it's #1: (1) I updated my video drivers from nvidia.com...they released their latest on July 2nd (186.18), so try that. (2) I played with some port forwarding settings I hadn't updated in awhile...here's what I have forwarded: 3724, 6112, 6881-6999 (These are the ones WoW wants you to forward...maybe Aion uses the same ones...I had these forwarded for one of my machines, but not all of them, as in not the one that had Aion installed.) I hope this helps...Aion's a lot of fun when you're not rubberbanding every 5 seconds. |

No fps lag here, I'm getting from 60-120fps constantly. There is lag however on the server, sometimes when I'm chaining a monster, it would get stuck there, 2 seconds later i see about 5-6 damage hits above it's head. Then again it could be my connection, but I really doubt it.
