did anyne else have trouble binding(unable to bind) mouse 4+ in AION?
whenever I pressed 4-5 I would end up getting blank on the keybinding area (as if that was a key press) but not register the key? I had 6-7 bound to my keyboards via the mouse software and those worked. anyone else? |

I know this may not be useful to some, but I know a lot of folks who went from Logtech MX5xx series to Razer mice, and my MX518 works fine, all side buttons work and the middle mouse too. I am running Windows 7 if that makes any difference too. So I guess if you have an old MX500 or 518, it might be worth a try till the issues with GG are fixed for razer.

From my own experience, and what I've read, whether or not things like the extra buttons on the Lachesis (and many other mice) work or not is similar to the problems people with G-series keyboards and such have had; where the LCD freezes and the G keys won't work. Essentially the biggest part of it is what OS you use; if you use a 64-bit OS your mice/keyboards should generally work in Aion because GameGaurd doesn't, or can't, shut down the functions on those OSes. If you use a 32-bit OS then more than likely those functions will be locked down by GameGuard and you're out of luck.
Some people have reported getting it to work by setting up the mouse, then uninstalling the software for the mouse. Didn't work for me, but I know people for whom it has worked. Your best bet is to move to a 64-bit OS; though whether or not GameGuard will eventually try to block the functions on those platforms as well is up in the air. Unfortunately, GameGurd is what we're stuck with and its a horrible system, especially compared to Warden. |

My Logitech G5 also is able to have its extra buttons bound, and I use Vista x64/Win7 x64. Gameguard does indeed suck, but we're stuck with it for now.
I haven't tested my keyboard because I don't use macro buttons too often, but I think it works, idk though. __________________ Today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday...

Look around, you can probably bypass gameguard, by using some programs. Try this:
Rootkit protection, stop the worst spyware trojans. DiamondCS ProcessGuard rootkit prevention I don't know if it would work or not, it may protect your mouse drivers from being shutdown by gameguard. |

My side buttons on my Lachesis also do not work, and I do have a 64 bit OS version on Vista.
outside of thegame and in other games it is bound and operates completely fine, so I assume its something to do with gamegaurd/aion. Some other people have told me that their Razer Lachesis works completely fine and tried to tell me some "tricks" to make it work... but the mouse IS working. |

My apologies since what I'm about to post is off-topic, but, I think any decent mouse will do fine for an MMO. Something like Razer products, while nice, is unnecessary. Make sure the mouse has the buttons you need for applications, like VOIP for example, and you like the feel of it. Surely, you don't need to pay more than $40 for something like that. And because the high-end mice are so based on performance and customization you get problems like this, in which an anti-cheat application shuts down the advanced features for which you bought the mouse for in the first place.
