I tried that solution with AA x0 and texture quality on low as mentioned.
I used to crash 4-5 times per hour. After the changes was done ingame, i have crashed 2 times in 5 hours... Still same error tho. ![]() I have the newest windows update and running windows 7 ultimate. So its an improvement, but NCsoft need to fix this issue, as it would suck big time to play the game with these crashes. So thnx for the temp. error fix |

I played last night for hours on end, not a single crash.
Recap the situation: Auto Detect had my Textures on Med-High, I change them to Med-Low. Worked like a charm. Quote:

To you guys who are having this issue: is it new to 1.5? Or did you have this issue during closed betas?

I got my Vista fully updated with Service Pack 2 and the game crashed last night, so Service Pack 2 isnt gonna solve this problem.
![]() I'm always using Xfire while playing Aion (thought it doesnt detect it anymore since i formatted my comp last time >_<), gonna play a few days with Xfire turned off and will see how it goes. __________________

Service Pack 2 does fix some of the crashes (the ones related to not having at least service pack 1).
The crashes that read "Could not read from 0x00000000" may be actual program bugs or data errors. I did get one of those last night. That'll teach me to go jumping around Sanctum before it's loaded. |

I have done everything I could think of between then and now. I reinstalled the client multiple times, updated service packs, switched to Win 7, and still get it. Although now it happens usually at random times and without warning. I'd usually crash anywhere there was a large amount if players, though right now I can easily run through a packed Sanctum without problem, and then end up crashing later when I'm alone. It's really frustrating not knowing the exact cause of this problem, because I can't fix it until I know why it's happening. |

Hopping on here to say that I, too am experiencing this particular crash. I can play flawlessly for hours out in the quest world, but as soon as I hit a large town or city, I crash within 60 seconds. I researched it and tried everything folks have suggested
>Install Vista SP2 >Update Drivers >Repair Client >Reinstall Aion and well, none of that fixed it. I tried lowering the textures and it seemed to let me stay in more populated areas longer... but still the same crash. I am concerned as to whether this is an issue with my hardware or the game code. I don't want to get into this game and then have to upgrade a bunch of parts to play, as my specs are pretty modern. I'm playing on a laptop vista 64, Intel 2 duo T8300 @ 2.4 ghz, 4gigs of ram, with a GeForce 8600M GS. The game runs absolutely beautifully otherwise; so I'm praying that it is a game coding problem that will be resolved with our reports. *crosses fingers*! |
