CrySystem.dll Crash, SOLUTION!!!
Experiment:
By Turning all my graphics settings to lowest possible level I am able to do whatever I want, wherever I want and no crash due to CrySystem.dll Module. So now I am turning up all of the settings one at a time, to see when it starts to crash again in order to isolate the problem. After each setting change I am applying it, then running around sanctuary, gliding when I can, talking to NPCs, Entering private stores and NPC stores, and getting sum cutscenes via quests. (with everything at lowest possible levels it seriously looks like super nintendo and im rockin 300fps lol) -------------------------- Changed Resolution: 800x600 to 1920x1080 wide... No Crashes during Sanctuary Testing ------------------------- Activated Full Screen Skill Effect Activated Optimize Character Detail Changed from 16bit to 32bit color Still no crash during Sanctuary testing ------------------------- Activated Weather Activated Char LOD Actived Glow Effect Still no crash during Sanctuary Testing Set Water Effect to High Set Background to High Still goin strong ------------------------- Set Shadows to High Set Terrain Range to Far no problems ------------------------- Set Object Range to High Set Shadows Quality to High Set Texture Detail to High DING DING DING we mayyy have a winner....got insta-kicked with same reported issue trying to narrow it down between the three ------------------------- Ladies and Gentlemen we do have a WINNNER!!!! Just set EVERYTHING back to lowest possible settings then: Set Object Range to High Set Shadows Quality to High Set Texture Detail to High and Kicked seconds after with same problem. It is one of these 3 things, or a combination of, doing more testing to narrow it down more. However in the meantime i suggest u set these to low and it should be ok (havn't got to Alias or Light Bloom yet). A simple temporary solution ------------------------- Set Anti-Aliasing to x8 Set Light Bloom to Type 3 No Crash (Although Anti-Aliasing combined with Textures may cause slight problems) Along with Everything else at maximum settings except: Object Range Shadows Quality Texture Detail so, it is most definitely one of these 3 things, I will now set them up one by one and see when it crashes. -------------------------- Set Object Range to Far No Crash ------------------------- /ownd Set Shadows Quality to High No Crash Set Texture Quality to High CRASH!!!! this is our culprit!!!! ------------------------------- I am currently running all Graphics Settings at their highest possible settings except texture quality and am having ZERO CRASHES, Running around in Akairos Village and Sanctuary, cutscenes, quests, vendors, everything. NO CRASH!!! In Conclusion: In order to fix or lower the occurrence of this problem, 1. Open System Menu (in game) 2. Click Options 3. Graphics Options 4. Set Texture Quality to LOW *Also note that it is not necesary you always have these settings low, you can max all your settings outside of outposts/sanctuary, just make sure to lower those 2 settings when entering an outpost/sanctuary, especially sanctuary. (It is not necesary that Anti-Aliasing be x0 and Textures be Low, you can have them higher and still have little to no crashes, I'm not sure how the problem works so it may vary from computer to computer, just make absolutely sure you never have Textures above Medium nor Anti-Aliasing at x8. On mine I am running Textures at Low/Medium and Anti-Aliasing at x4, no problems so far) If this does not work for you, then findout what does using the same steps I did... it is definitely a Graphics Rendering Error involving the maintenance yesterday. Even if this does not 100% eliminate the crashes for you, We can still safely say that Texture Quality is the major factor in crashing, so turn that down and crashes will significantly decrease. The End! p.s. If anyone else can please test this out for me so we can see if this is a common solution for everyone, or just me, again, this is the solution to fix the random crashes, especially around outposts/cities, due to a CrySystem.dll Module p.p.s. Although I believe i have found a temporary solution... @NCSoft, please fix this, as I would very much hate to have to play Aion with mediocre textures on my Quad-SLI GTX 295, ty^^ Infinity EDIT!!!: I Uninstalled Aion, then upgraded to SP1 and SP2 for my Vista 64bit, then Reinstalled Aion from same source... 100% max settings, including textures/antialiasing, ZERO Crashes. More Permanent Solution: 1. Uninstall NCSoft Launcher and Aion completely 2. Upgrade your windows to SP2 3. Reinstall Aion Should Work. To find what Service pack you have on your windows, just google it, it's easy to figure out. Remember you have to install SP1 before SP2 __________________

How about running around in Pandemonium or the Elyos main city?
Hows that working for ya? I can currently play pre-Pandemonium without any issues at all. Once in the city, I am a dead man, grey tiles and html load failure messages on venders etc... then crash.. |

This is my issue, I shall test tonight after work and update this post with results.
Continual Crashing : CrySystem.dll Ok, first off this is my first beta event with Aion. I managed to play pretty much problem free for the first 10 levels(lag being the exception - for everyone). Now I am in Pandemonium and I crash within a few minutes of getting into the game. All my crashes seem to have Fault Module Name CrySystem.dll I am Googling the planet here... Have done: - Drive update and review - Aion.bin rename followed by NCsoft file integrity checker - Started new toons, problem free for the first couple of levels (only tested through lvl 3) Any assistance is appreciated Sometimes I can see the crash coming in the forms of the following: - Grey Tiling Effect - Vender or Quest Givers pop-ups have an HTML load failure message Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: aion.bin Application Version: 1.9.724.1545 Application Timestamp: 4a693275 Fault Module Name: CrySystem.dll Fault Module Version: 1.9.729.1562 Fault Module Timestamp: 4a706428 Exception Code: c0000005 Exception Offset: 00005180 OS Version: 6.0.6000.2.0.0.256.1 Locale ID: 1033 Additional Information 1: 8d13 Additional Information 2: cdca9b1d21d12b77d84f02df48e34311 Additional Information 3: 8d13 Additional Information 4: cdca9b1d21d12b77d84f02df48e34311 ------------------ System Information ------------------ Time of this report: 9/7/2009, 21:37:54 Machine name: Operating System: Windows Vista? Interesting solution you have here. I've forwarded it to our tech people.

What I did that seemed to work: 1. Set Anti-Aliasing from x4 to x2 2. Set Texture to Med-Low from Med-High With that I logged on during my lunch break for a whopping 20 minutes, checked a ton of venders, quests etc.. all INSIDE Pandemonium. No grey tiles, no html errors. Prior to these adjustments I would last 2 -3 minutes tops. The moment I snuck Textures to Medium, I crashed within 20-30 seconds. |

Could be my GPU overheated because I haven't stop playing since the 3rd maintenance. Saw the temp of GPU hike up to 78 celcius the moment i crashes. Will try to adjust the fan speed and try again. HD4870x2 anyways. |
