Give me kinky, give me naughty...
I think my boyfriend and I have finally decided what faction to play in Aion.
It's been a difficult decision over the past week because we seemed to say "Elyos" one day and "Asmodian" the next. Here we are in our 20's and we both sound like babbling teenagers when it comes to Aion, discussing every last detail of what we're going to be doing in the next beta. I think if we had been live on youtube for the past week, it would have formed one of those key moments in life that you look back on and ask yourself "What...the f**k...?"
We started the intense decision making journey by looking at the Elyos side of the world. We're both good looking people, so why not play the angelic looking race with sunkissed skin and dove-like wings? The Elyos armor isn't bad, afterall, albeit the early sets for a Mage look rather like one of those bumless hospital gowns that fluffy purple slippers would go so nicely with...but ok, I can deal with that. The class overall is very beautiful.
Then we played the Asmodian's last weekend for a while and nearly ruptured lungs looking around at the ridiculous characters people had come up with. Little green dwarf men anyone? A purple demon with oversized feet in a pink party dress? Honestly we couldn't stop laughing. At this point we decided that it was worth doing some reconnaisance on the Asmodian side just for the slapstick comedy value.
Ok, so it seems we were decided at this point. Elyos were stunningly beautiful and Asmodians were delving into whole new levels of abnormality. Done deal right? Not quite...
Firstly, my boyfriend (known by many as Possum) and I both have a tendancy to focus on the armor and crafting side of any MMO game we play. We already have a plan to split the crafting and gathering duties between us somewhat, so that we can enjoy taking our crafting professions to all new levels as quickly as possible. Secondly, we primarily seem to be drawn to crafting and armor because we both want to have the most awesome things for ourselves. But of course that's the case, I guarantee all crafters would say the same. I mean show me a philanthropist crafter and I'll show you his secret plans to take over the world!
So, here we are four days before the next preview event and we've already decided that being able to craft armor we like ourselves is our ticket to MMO happiness. We then ran off to do some research on Aion armor which, to name a few places, led us to here, here, and here.
Now, there is something to be said for woman dancing around in a corset on a computer screen like the Asmodians do so well. I think it's safe to say that many of us would never dare, in a million years, to wear something so risque in real life, at least not walking down the street among the populace. A few not so flattering names come to mind for those that do, at least this side of mardi gras. Also, the chances are if you did, some crusty old bugger will photograph your cheeks on his i-phone and you'll find yourself on the youtube hottest-heinie's list by Sunday.
But in a game...well girls...if you're missing the naughty and you want the kinky, without feeling like you're putting your real goodies on show, then Asmodae is the place for you!
But there is common armor you say? Some Asmodian armor can be worn by Elyos anyway? Yes I read all that too, and it's all fantastic stuff. I will certainly be getting my hands on the Asmodian Cloth outfit if I decide to make a spare Elyos character. But, in my heart of hearts, I know I won't be happy unless I'm crafting kinkies for the Asmodian masses, signed by yours truly

Looks like I'll have to be doing some research as well, I'm usually the kinda player to build up a vision of a character and then try accomplish it.. Always created characters based on their looks and what items would be available to them.
So far I don't have a foggiest clue on how that's gonna work out in Aion, I'm looking at my first experience with the game as the Beta opens up this evening, and I'm really really excited. It'll be tough to break the WoW habit, although I won't quit it thats for sure - over 350 days played on there now I think, and I'm too attached to characters to leave it <_<Posted 07-31-2009 at 07:40 AM by Mythricia
