-Herds can be anywhere from five to twenty but can get up to three hundred.
-Females will leave the group to give birth and hide the young for a fortnight.
-Males will sometimes form bachelor herds.
-The ancient Egyptians are said to have semidomesticated the hartebeest for use as a sacrificial animal.
