What Free Games I Play While I Wait on Aion (pt.1)
Posted 07-13-2008 at 11:04 PM by Armadon
Well everyone is probably picking up on WoW right about now and looking at the CBT Video thread 10 times daily to ease their little Aion addiction but i seem to be doing fine with a couple hours of WoW and some free games.
1. Guild Wars
In my opinion: better than WoW! (maybe its just the fact that i have been playing it for 2 years) despite it being an instanced game the graphics are very nice, the story line is solid (but sometimes the most important parts are in the quest text), and with the later campaigns that have been released (Night Fall and Factions) it is easy to level and pretty simple to afford max armor.
BUT AARON WTF THERE IS A LV CAP OF 20?!?!
So...the game is not about getting to 20 really its about finishing a campaign and being able to make your own skill set and adjust your character's attributes to what you want. Besides there are titles (ranging from easy as hell to tear your eyes out hard) that you can achieve by playing PvE or PvP. And i know you love titles...you like bragging and actually being able to back it up with some tangible evidence. I know...
Q.Q BUT YOU CANT CHANGE YOUR SKILLS ANYTIME
OH NOES! get over it...if your really that dependent on needing 40 skills to kill one foe you really deserve a slap. Besides you can change them in any town/outpost and chances are if you are complaining about only being able to use 8 skills at a time and only change them in certain places then you will be in towns and outpost alot...from dying a lot...because you cant think...
WHAT ABOUT PWNING DEM NOOBS?
PvP in GW is interesting because certain skills and upgrades are locked when you first create an account which encourages that you play the campaign. However you can always just do nothing buy PvP and unlock the skills with the faction (only for your PvP characters) you earn OR be (lazy like me) and spend $4 on all the skills for that campaign unlocked on all your PvP characters which is a deal when there are roughly 200+ skills per campaign.
WHAT DO I DO WITH THE SKILLS IN PvP?!
T.T
Ok if your in a situation like me (have all the skills or a lot unlocked) then you go nuts and get creative. You can create a Lv.20 character strictly for PvP and create/test builds to your liking then hit up the areas and make people mad its that simple. If your lazy you can always copy skill/attribute/weapon&armor variations off of fan sites and work with that...but honestly who the hell really likes cookie-cutter builds?

Oi Oi there!
Being a 3years old GW player, I loved your review =)
Yeah I do like the lvl 20 cap, at least you don't nyerking grind to be stronger than anyone else in the game. In the end, only the playing skills matter in such game which puts us all on the same ground, I'd not get owned by someone who has nothing else to spend 2 godfarking grands a month to gear up >.> but what's making me laugh is when I see a fail skillbar from another player and show it in ally/guild chat ^^ (if he's not in ally/guild that is...)
Indeed, the PvE goal is not to be higher lvl than anyone else, but to enjoy missions, titles and most importantly, (u forgot!!) elite zones. And you do have a point, going creative with making skill bars is an interesting part. Although some skill nerfs drove me nuts! Some people do enjoy the farming though (I'll never understand that .. >.>)
For PvP, I gotta say it's one of the most well-done and strategic system I've ever seen on every games I played cause I don't give a sheit about wars being only meant to PK players from a adverse alliance (in other other words, idiots ganking low-lvls cause it makes them "hard"). There's a lot of PvP type ranging from faction vs faction which is more like PvEvP imo, Guild vs Guild, 4 vs 4 (randomly teamed one and the teamed up one), the 1vs1, or HvH which is you vs another with 3 of your heroes, each, and the most popular one, the Heroes' ascent, the fight for the hold of the pantheon. (I'm aware u might know about all this already armadon but that's for the potential visitors
)
now I wonder who's Aaron?Posted 08-02-2009 at 02:19 AM by Snedjana
