The obsession begins...

Ohhh man.

Many years ago now when I was just turning into a teenager, I remember seeing a trailer for Phantasy star online. At that point I didn't really play PC games so an online multiplayer game was such an exciting idea to me. On top of that, even now I still think it's one of the coolest looking games ever. The mixture of something new AND the way it looked had be addicted to the game before it came out. I remember biking to the mall on launch day, selling a bunch of my old games and taking it back home to run up a £500 phone bill connecting to Ragol. I was totally, utterly, helplessly hooked.

That was a long time ago. I've gotten older. It's gotten harder to impress me (Or maybe things that are coming out have gotten worse?) and I've played my share of MMOs. On the whole, they've bored me. Even WoW, which has taken up the most of my time of any game since PSO, was totally lame after my friends logged off. But every single one of my friends played it and so...

Anyway. A friend showed me the website for Aion. It's a VERY pretty MMO with a playing style similar (at least, it seems) to WoW, which worked just fine. The music, visuals and tiny touches put into the game are all really exciting to me. It's been a LOOOONG time since I've been this excited about a game. I've downloaded the OST, made wallpapers and joined forums. I've fanboyed about it at friends (Who're waiting for Aion to come out too so we can all play together.) Now all that's left is the waiting game...

...

****.
