Age of Combo: 2 weeks in and...

I started playing Age of Conan a few days before the rest of you filthy peasants due to me sneaking in the Early Access program by greasing Funcom's palm with a bribe of $5.

At least that's how I felt about it. I'm a sneaky *****. Apparently not everyone who bribed got into early access. I may or may not have had something to do with that.

Anyways, So I knew I wanted to play a demonologist because they used fire spells and had a pet. I like pet classes. So I made my short, extremely well endowed yet anorexic looking stygian demo and played till lvl 9, when I got my Incubus. Male demos get succus and females get incus. Apparently so we can, I don't know, get frisky with them?

So succus are cute little winged topless ladies with an egyptian hairstyle and eyeliner. Not horrific looking.

The Incubus.. looked like something from an alien horror flick. It humps the air and growls and uses a COMPLETELY useless spell called "Infernal Seed". And did I mention the tail that looks like it came straight from some tentacle hentai?

No I am NOT making this up, damn it!

How come the males get a cute little demon to play with and we get "Big fat and UGLY"!

I tell you what, it's SEXIST! I DEMAND SEXY DEMONS!

Oh and these aren't wow's demons. These don't tank. They don't nuke. They don't whip your opponent's ***. They barely do anything at all besides follow you around and embarrass you if you are a girl. They give you and your group one buff that you can live without. They are USELESS. After 18 I just stopped summoning mine. My incubus carried a sword and I NEVER saw him use it.

So I get my demonologist to 21, then decide I want to try a melee class. I tried assassin first. They can only use daggers and crossbows and they wear cloth. Yes...cloth. Like mages. Cloth. Eww. However tearing your foe's throat out with your dagger is endless entertainment!

At first glance the button pressing and shield system of the game looks like a lot of work. It isn't, but you can't set your character to attack something and go for a drink. But don't let that scare you away from the melee classes, they are fun.

In small doses.

Don't let yourself get into a button mashing habit, it won't help when you get two-button combos. You will screw them up till you stop mashing buttons.

After I got assassin to 27, which took 3 days, I tried barbarian which could use basically every weapon besides polearms and used light armor. One step above cloth. Still fun but I felt like it was an assassin with light armor. I didn't see a lot of difference. The decapitation is fun though.

I tried a whole bunch of other classes but only to level 10...

Theres more research to be done.
