SC4: Offensive/Defensive Targeting

Basically, you have an offensive target (i.e. whatever you're attacking) and a defensive target. You designate your defensive target before you actually begin to fight so that all heals and buffs automatically target that person without you having to pick them manually each time. Note that it doesn't actually heal them instantly, just targets them for you, so there's no issues if as a healer you have multiple people you're taking care of. It just defaults to whoever you set as the defensive target, presumably the main tank.
Sylvok's definition is as follows:

Back in the day I played Vanguard and as bad as that game was one thing I hope goes into all future games, being able to have an offensive and defensive target. This made grouping so much easier, as you didnt have to fly around with your targets all the time. All of you offensive moves would hit the mob and all of your defensive moves would hit your teammate without ever having to switch between the to.
Example: In WoW if you are a shammy and you are enhancement, before the fight you set the tank as your defensive target, during the boss fight you notice the tank is about to die, so you cast a fast heal without having to switch targets off of the boss to the tank then back again. Instead you can cast the fast heal with it automatically going to your defensive target while your offensive target can remain the same.
It's defined on the silkyvenom wiki as:
Quote:
A secondary target, seperate from your offensive target, that will recieve benefits such as heals, buffs, and rescues.
