I would also like to add another idea to the bunch, possibly tied into crafting or the minigame room. What if you could actually start up a band? You could equip an instrument you get by crafting it or winning it in the minigame room and then play it by typing in /play. If other people played with you by typing in /playwith Blahblah, the song would be different than simply having one person play. It could be a fun distraction for people and a way to build the game's community. Imagine an entire guild playing together, in full orchestra style.

Well uhhh me and Karnage decided to merge our ideas together and we decided upon a new description that I came up with still holding the same idea of the first. So what you are about to see is the Minigames Room and Music Feature description.
Also check back to your Suggestions Cycle 3 thread. For some reason more people posted like 2-3 more suggestions. Midgar was one of them and it had something to do with Swimming and like two other people nominated it also. You can easily locate the nominations, they are all on one page =p exept ones on the previous. But its not much of a read, so the Swimming Suggestion could probably go in the extra slot if you'd still let us combine our Two Ideas.Quote:Minigames Room and Music System
Minigames Room
Ok so I was thinking that Aion should have a Minigame room. This building would consist of 3 rooms.
Main Lobby
One would be the main hall that would like have clerk Npc in the front that could explain the rules of the game for you, etc. Also he would sell items available only to those of a specified rank or something. The items he sells would just be for Aesthetics only, like a cape or some other gear that doesn't give any advantages. It would be sort of like a reward for you winning all those hard games, and you'd have to pay with ticket/tokens.
Challenge Room
Then in this 2nd room would act as a Challenge room, upon walking in, you'd gain some kind of buff or something that will allow you to challenge or to be challenged by other players to a specified Minigame. I was thinking they could make a Special card game made for Aion specificaly, like how there was a certain card game from one of the FF games... I forgot which one though. Also some other Minigames that fit in well with the game.
Well anyway, when you challenge or is challenged by someone, there will be a little popup If you are challenged or is sent to the person that you did challenge on if you want to accept or not.
Well anyway when the person who got the Challenge popup hits Accept. You and the opponent get transfered to a nearby room. Which is Room 3.
Game Room
When you get transported to this room you are already sitting at a table playing the specified game. In this room, anyone can access it also just by walking in. They could even observe the game thats being played by clicking on the table. But whoever is in this room cannot Challenge another player because your buff would disapear upon walking out of the Challenge Room. When the game is done, you and the opponent are transfered back to the Challenge Room. Also the winner would recieve Tokens/Tickets.
Rank System
I was also thinking this should have a ranking system for more fun and this is how it would work.
When you challenge someone and you pick which kind of game, there will also be an option to where you can make the game a practice match or something so you won't lose any of your ranking points. Or you can make the game ranked, so if you win you will receive points that make that rank go up. Depending on your rank, you will be able to purchase different Items from the Clerk NPC in the Main Hall (Again the items are just for looks). There would be a rank penalty system though, so if you're say, rank 100 and beat someone with a rank of 700, you'd receive less points than if you beat someone of a higher rank than you. Or something like that.
Some Reasons for some of these options!
The rank system is Mostly to prevent cheating, like leting someone win and they get free ticket/tokens and be able to buy their prizes... So instead, they'd have to earn their reward by getting their rank higher. Also just so others would know what level player you are. So people don't face a difficult person by accident just because there was nothing to tell him so. Also the rank penalty thing is to prevent people from getting their rank really high by only beating Low Ranked players only.
And...Uhhh =p The prizes are just for fun
Music System
Ok well first off, you would need to get instruments and you can get them by purchasing them with your ticket/tokens that you won from the Minigames Room from the NPC in the Main Lobby. With these instruments you would be able to play various songs by buying the Song Scripts that you bought from the NPC in the Minigames room with your ticket/tokens.
Song Scripts
To play your instrument you'd have to purchase song scripts that you can buy from the NPC in the Main Lobby of the Minigames Room with your ticket/tokens and before you would buy them, they would have a difficulty rating next to it or so.
These song scripts are what would activate your instrument when you have them equiped or something allowing you to play various songs. Maybe some of the songs already in the game??
But playing these songs won't be so easy, you'd have to have atleast some skill to play them. So when you activate you Song Script you'd get another window that shows up.
To play the songs you'd have to hit the one or more of the arrow keys on time as they show up on the window. Sort of like Flash flash revolution a bit but instead, here if you missed the arrow you wouldn't play that note from the song and same thing goes if you hit the wrong arrow. So that you'd actualy have to have some skill to play the songs. Or some other way that requires some skill.
Restrictions??
This feature would of course have maybe a 2 minute cooldown or so or longer or maybe even less depending where you are, so you don't annoy the hell out of other people by constant playing like in cities. Since there would probably end up being alot of people doing this. Or maybe some other restrictions?Posted 04-09-2008 at 11:18 PM by SoraNashimi
