Maybe I'm stubborn, maybe I'm idealistic, but I want to share my ideas about some things in the world.

Regarding my quote
I quote the quote that is in my signature:
"I don't get people. Never have. Never will."
If you're bored waiting for Aion and you don't plan on doing anything else, feel free to read this.
~BEWARE~
You might lose a bit of your sanity by reading this. I'm not responsible for anything.
~Origin~
First of all, I didn't think it up myself. It isn't the king of quotes either. But it had some power in it that I liked. Above all else, it's the truth; I don't get people.
The quote comes from a Nintendo DS game called The World Ends With You. Developed by Square Enix and Jupiter. It's a game I recommend everyone to play if you own a DS.
~Interpretation~
Note that the below is how I interpret it. Some people might interpret it another way.
I doubt I need to explain much here. It means exactly what it says. Maybe I should explain how I interpret the first part 'I don't get people.'.
It can be said in one sentence: "Not understanding the 'why' of an action of a human."
~Me and the quote~
Ahem. Right.
Do you have those moments that you ask yourself why someone near you is bladdering on and on and on about something completely stupid?
Or ever seen people fighting around rumors? C'mon they're rumors! Get real!
I heard the news in Holland that some scientist say there's a 50% chance the north pole will be ice free this summer. Time for panick and do something about it? Nah, it's only 50% chance, who believes that?
Why do people smoke when it clearly says SMOKING KILLS YOU on the box?
Why do people act funny around drinking alcohol when they know it's bad and even dangerous for them?
Why can't people drop their own opinions and accept the opinions of the other?
Why does humankind do things that they know its bad?
You see where I'm getting at? I DON'T GET ANY HUMANS OUT THERE! Including myself, sadly. Yes, I hate myself, I usually blame myself for things that went wrong instead of others.
Now you must think I've no friends. You're right to think that, but I do have friends.(one thing I wondered for a long time...never mind...getting off track) I enjoy helping others if they need me.
There's a difference between not understanding an action and going against it. And the term tolerance stands between them.
You know what...I'm wrong about humankind. But I can't change my thoughts about it, since I'm one too. Yup, I'm just as stubborn as them.
You can say all of the above is just human. Right, but what's human? Come and define a human or even human actions if you dare. What makes us different than animals or even a rock on the ground? We're nature right? They're no such thing as culture, since humans are nature. We just inappropiate positioned ourselves in the middle of creation. Yes, it's not only the Church who does this, everybody does apparently.
You know how everyone is fed up (as in educated) by our parents and the other people? It's like brainwashing really. A lot of people have trouble neglecting those teachings. That's why they're blind to the reality. Uhuh. In philosophy, you need to forget what you are if you want to think as objective as possible about something.
You may think I'm going off track, but this is all relevant. It's some small things of a bigger whole. They all add up why humans act so stubborn and stubborn explains all their actions. They're many more out there (and maybe even more arguments against it). This is just some of my thoughts about humanity. Try to look at the bigger picture, please.
~As an end note~
I don't know what's right. I doubt anyone will ever know. I just think what we're doing now is wrong. Remember that nothing in the world is black and white. Nothing I say here is absolute. Everything is relative...atleast that's what I think.
Regards, Vent.

My friend you have confused yourself or so i think.
I didn't read all of your blog i admit this but i'll answer some of your questions.
I'm a smoker, drinker and i often change my mind if persuaded enough.
I smoke because i enjoy it, even though it does kill me i enjoy the peace of mind i get whilst being outside in the sun/rain/cold etc etc. It also brings a social aspect into my life where i've met plenty of interesting people who have given me advice or made pretty decent statements about common interests.
I drink because i enjoy the taste of alcohol and i like the effect of it. Don't get me wrong i don't get drunk for the hell of it but when i want to i do it because it gives me this "I don't give a flying monkey" attitude towards everyone. I'm a lot louder on alcohol then when i am off it.
Finally i often change my mind because i shut my eyes and close my senses and don't look at the wider picture, which is what i believe now. I distort things my way so i don't have to look at what is wrong and eventually someone comes along and opens my eyes to the truth.
Think about that and i hope we can talk more, you seem like a well rounded guy.Posted 07-07-2009 at 03:19 PM by Noscrub
